Actually stayed there last year around about Jan 10th. Did not need to book to much in advance.
Lots of Japs.
Pool was not working. Looked dirty as I was above it.
Room was ok but out of all the hotels I have been in, was the worst, althrough was cheap and adequate.
Across the road is gullivers.

IMO, a bit unusual as most Japs prefer more upscale places ( guess these were the sucker Japs that were cheated by their tour group company advertising 4-5 star hotels). But again, what do I know as I am the type to search for non-fancy but clean, decent places at a cheap price so save paycheck for drinking and bonking. Cheers.

yup seen a lot of asians chinese, korean, etc... at Fortuna Soi 5 last trip
but was more impressed at the amount of old, out of shape sleez ball european and american travellers at Nana.
For a good mix Majestic suites is secure and convenient.
saw the rooms and Fortuna had a larger spacious room for "single" but very bare/barren on furniture
Lots of room for "Olympic" boom boom though
did not see any tourist bring girls in-out of hotel, but I was always out and about at Gulliver's and Nana

got a good rate for November.
i like the location and wanted to try a new location. instead of majestic suites, all the time. not that there is anything wrong with the place

When I stayed there it was a good hotel. Clean and functionally good but nothing to brag about. They advertised a pool, but I has no water in it. Good Breakfast. They have safety deposit boxes in the lobby.
7-11 just inches away, internet cafe less than 30 seconds away. Gullivers about 1 minute and soi 7 beergarden was close. Eden was less than 4 minutes walk.

that is what I got from Fortuna soi 5 hotel
gullivers, soi 7 bars, Nana, soi 4 and BTS 
the service was fine and morning buffet was various for 199bht, but I got it for free as I made friends with front office staff (brought them some snacks from Hawaii/while walking around BKK)
the room was older but larger than Majestic suite double
bathroom was larger also, but shower pressure was poor and toliet needed maintenance
paid 1,300bht per night
would try it one more time B4 trying Ever Rich Inn or next location on my "too see" list
my girl stayed with me for 4 days and never left her ID at desk.....lots and lots of JPN businessmen playing
taxi driver gave me hassles trying to go back to airport on my departure
but thats another story/forum
the FORCE is strong...............
