Killed three (3) cockroaches on the 22nd floor when I stayed there. Won't stay there anymore. Used to be a real good hotel, is now a roach motel. I got very good service, in my case, but did not appreciate the critters. Had to zip everything closed and shake out all my clothes, just in case. I didn't trust the adjoining room doors and put my suitcase in front to block it. Back to the Intercontinental, I guess. LOL! Gyaos.

Place is ok (that is an intentional SMALL ok) for a family stay. Reasonable rates, and nice to have the double rooms (even if they are relatively SMALL). Design is like a U, with each of the rooms being the legs of the U. Between the 2 legs, in the center, is the bath. Along this bottom leg (short hallway) also a decent sized closet. As mentioned, each of the rooms does have its own tv. Room does have a safe. The couch in the "living" room does fold down into a bed (i.e., for a big kid or a couple of small ones - and having separate tv's does help entertain). SMALL fridge in living room, packed full of the rip-off mini-bar items. Just take the stuff out and put it on the shelf; no problem with the maid. Living room also has a SMALL bar setup (you know, sink, etc.) And a reasonable desk. Bed is comfortable. Floors are QUIET. Reasonable view. Did not try out pool, etc. No construction around. Does have free parking, with validation, though the parking is split into 2 areas (one entrance from soi 20, other from soi 18). Decent breakfast buffet, although nothing to go out of your way for. Seems to be popular with Japanese tour groups. I never saw any roaches - perhaps the previous residents were the attraction? Maid was friendly, even bringing extra towels. Certainly parking staff (security in parking areas) was helpful (with baggage, etc.). When checking in, reception was unable to provide small change (coins) for the pay phone in the lobby (as in "No change", rather than "Please wait while I send someone for some" - it's the ATTITUDE). In other matters, front desk staff seemed "indifferent" (as in, NO, I would not accept 2 twin beds rather than a single queen). There is a "joiner's fee" for any guests. 1000 baht. Their business. Regardless of time of day, there was ALWAYS a male member of the hotel staff stationed at the elevators. My business: What got me FLYING out of the elevator was when I, my wife (thai), and daughter walked into the elevator, and the "gate guard" stuck his arm into the elevator, stopping the doors from closing, DEMANDING to see proof that my family was staying there. Now, given that, as usual these days, the room keys are unmarked plastic cards... and I'm not in the habit of carrying around the hotel "resident" card... I was all ready to march that boy DIRECTLY to the manager, but my wife, typically thai, the ole' Khun Jai Dee, told me to let it slide. I understand they have a job to do, but the accusatory attitude, NOT polite, had me going. ============================ If you are single: STAY ELSEWHERE. For a family... maybe. It is quiet, it is "respectible", the 2 rooms for 1 was nice. But as mentioned previously, a lot of the staff is "neutral" as far as help goes. I'd say they are more geared to tour groups than individuals. There are more pleasing places (e.g., Royal President).

I have 2 nights upcoming in this hotel (don't ask why!?!) and here is what is quoted on their electronic confirmation page sent to me: "All visitors, joiners are subject to 3,500.00 THB extra charge, any used of hotel failities by joiner is prohibited" No problem for me as it is just for the two days, and I will check-in to the hotel in the company of a CGFutureWife so she will be a resident. And just because of this policy, I think I will screw her in the swimming pool late-night and write a FR! Obviously this place is not girl-friendly. But I knew that...

Just be prepared to prove she is a resident to the elevator guard when you get back from an evening out...

Hey ColoradoGuy... why staying at Windosr Suites, and not going few minutes deeper into the soi and get a room at TL and help a fellow expart do a little business? Does not make sense. Cheers, Ap.

Finished my stay here. No one really challenged Dew too much once she had a resident card. Everywhere in the hotel, you could sense that this hotel does not want Thai people as customers. The room was very nice, the pool was great, but I would give it a pass if with a Thai person.

I think security just uses a brute force approach: unless proven otherwise, a thai female is a wg. As posted before, they seem to cater to a lot of japanese package tourists, older, or couples (at least that's what I'd see getting off the buses, or at breakfast.
