Bus Stop on Soi 4? is one place I have seen a few games on a small TV in BKK (Think they also have a bigger screen but something more important was on - cant recall exactly) and there is apparantley a bar or two in Soi 33 also.
Check through the posts in the Bars section and you are sure to find it in the subject.

Here's what I posted [to another forum] on Meritus:
I tried it out in Nov for 5 days. Booked it through this site:

for a very reasonable rate (I thought) Suite was great! Liked it a lot for layout, amenities, spaciousness, in-room high-speed net access. Restaurant breakfast was a quite good buffet with a nice ambiance. Seemed to have quite full occupancy with Asian tourist and/or business types.
Guest friendly factor: High
Downsides: 1) only one bank of three elevators serve *both* the rooftop venues and all Mertitus suites floors, which made for very long waits between lifts and very crowded lift conditions during evening hours. On many occasions the doors would open to reveal a maxed out elevator and you'd be forced to wait for another. Very major design lapse IMHO. 2) to access restaurant floor you must change lefts to another bank on lower floors: a tad confusing and tedious that was as well. How much these would annoy a longterm resident is the anyones guess.
Finally, traffic and congestion was HORRIFIC! from what I observed- I was seriously thinking of renting longterm in the area until the realities of Silom traffic sunk in. Five days later I couldn't wait to get out and longed for the *relative* peace of Sukhumvit.
Once you are in the suites the environment is quite nice and cocoon like, but getting there takes a bit of effort.
