sorry, can't rally help you there. I was only using the room for, er, night time activities, and staying elsewhere - the company were paying for a non GF hotel. Think I had a standard on the 8th floor; could have done with a face lift, but was ok for what I wanted!

If you want to pay cash Majestic will take a 1 nights rate as deposit, so you wont even have to have your CC swiped. They only want CC details if its an after 18.00 hr checkin to hold the room, of course if your a no show your CC will be charged, so be carefull on that one.
CC payments are not a problem for me, but with all the CC scams going on 'Dynasty has a bad name for this' I prefer paying in cash. Some hotels stick a 3% charge on for CCs. Which over a long stay can mean a LTimer!!!
Avoid the booking agencies that take a deposit.
