my opinion is the day b4 you leave send a reply e-mail with a copy of the e-mail confirmation/dates telling them you are "looking forward to staying @ their location and see them soon"............
always worked for me!

AS,
I think if they are overbooked, they still won't honor it because like Tyfon says, "They run their reservation system like let's see who turns up basis. " I will suggest to him your recommendation but he is so disgusted he is thinking about going elsewhere. I have never stayed at Majestics before because I prefer a nicer room.

Yep, the Majestic Suites normally seems to overbook by about 4 rooms per day. I've had the "we lost your reservation" thing pulled on me as well. Really they haven't lost it at all, they just overbooked and some other people showed up before me.

I've booked and paid a deposit for Majestic suites in October and it will be paid in full before I arrive in BKK.
(booked thru sawadee.com)
Has anyone had an issue with prepaid bookings ?

I get where you're coming from in regards pre pay but we are only doing 3 nights BKK and Majestic suites seems to be fairly highly regarded on this and other forums so I'm confident we'll be happy with our accomodation there.
5 nights in Pattaya are booked but pay on stay so no problems if we don't like what we get.
Patong is prepaid as well but once again I've read mostly positive reviews on Jintana and in reality we aren't that fussed because we won't be in the rooms that often and when we are it's mainly the bed that will be the centre of attention

I have always been generous to the hotel staff and especially to the one who really likes me. We email back and forth all the time. I make my reservations directly with her and NO problems. Get to know your staff.
