Stayed at MG in August, some design faults like not enough lifts and breakfast area far too small. I don't like sitting next to a gang of women in black at breakfast holding theit face shields up while shoveling food noisily into their mouths. Also loads of their kids using the lobby as a play ground at all hours. They have not got it right, some room decorations will soon look tatty and bathroom fittings broken already in my room, won't be going back-peter

Not sure how true this, but I have just read a thread on another site about guests of an Arab origin crowding up the Landmark. One post commented that this is pretty much par for the course every July and August, but once you head into September & October the burka count drops noticably, his comment: "Just ask any hotel staffer about July and August and watch the eyes roll."

I stayed at the Nana Hotel in Sept 2005 and there were Arab ladies everywhere. It seemed as if they love to sit in the Nana's lobby. I moved over to the Dynasty to get away from them and damn if they were not everywhere in the Dynasty. Many of them were dining on the Dynasty's famous SOS.

Hi all...
Just booked my trip to LOS for Feb/Mar2006 and booked myself into the Majestic Grande. Stayed at the Majestic Suites last time and the rooms were nice, but rather a bit small. Hoping that the rooms at the MG are larger.
I looked at their map and had a hard time trying to figure out just how far it is away from NEP. The MS is just around the corner from NEP but the MG seems to be farther. Is it?
I've also noticed quite a few good comments on the MG and also a few negative ones too. I guess that it just comes down to perception, right, wrong or what? Seems like a good choice when you balance out the comments, more of them are on the positive it seems.
The rate that I've been quoted is for a Grande Premier at 3,000 baht. Sounds reasonable... is it?
This'll be my second trip to LOS. My first trip last year was enjoyable but it was like being a kid in a candy store and I was so in awe of everything, and the ladies... didn't do as much as I should have... so I'm hoping for this trip will be better now that I'm more "seasoned".
I wish I had found this site and forum prior to my last rip and not after I got back. There's never an excuse for not doing proper research.
Any help from you fellas would be much appreciated.

There is a carpark between Soi 2 and Soi 4 which is just opposite Majestic Grande. I will need indicate this out on the map. You can walk through this carpark and get to soi 4 directly, and then turn left to NEP. NEP is just 2-3 minutes away from Majestic Grande.

As BK says as soon as you walk out the entrance there is a car park (of sorts ) straight ahead.You have annies immediately right of the MG.You walk right passed it through the 'car park' for about a hundred metres and you are on soi 4.Turn left and after about 200metres you are reach Nana Plaza on the right.
The MG is a good hotel.Yes a lot of arabs and other muslims but ignore that as a negative.3000 is maybe a bit high but even at tha price its good value if you can stand waiting for more than 30 seconds for the lifts.

thpught that I would treat myself with the MG, despite the 3000 amount and as for the lift, I work in an office building with lots of them, and all of them slow - 30 seconds would be a treat

I have just returned from a stay at the Majestic Grande, this is a very nice hotel which features in the Kuoni brochure. I did not see a single arab on my stay, no problem bringing your lady friend back at night however there is quite a long "walk of shame". Security do ask for the ladies ID but they are always very polite to you and your guest --- as of course they should be.
