I have never had a problem being bumped at MS, always booked direct, mention I've stayed before, give times of late arrival etc. Print off their confirmation e-mail and reconfirm a few days before.
Any booking problems or guest charging has always happened when I've booked through an agenUKP

I've stayed there before and it's a great little hotel. I wanted to book for a couple nights because my plane gets in at 23:15. I can snag something quick before the bars close. Right now I've been waiting 5 days for them to confirm and I leave tomorrow. I've e-mailed them 3 times. Their customer service is obviously lacking. Plan B goes into effect. By the way, is anything open Dec 5, the King's B'day. All I found were some real old threads on this.

Perhaps you should give them a call. If I make a resv. online ANWHERE in Thailand, I always call them before I come to confirm they have me coming in and they know my arrival time.

Also been a victim of overbooking at Majestic Suites. They sent me to Majestic Grande but, with a voucher, so I still only paid Suites rates. 
Just tried to book there over Xmas - booked solid. Everywhere was booked out except Livingstone's.
Livingstone's is great except for TV - rubbish channel selection. Some nights it is nice to chill out with the TG and catch some good sport or a movie.

Have to agree with CG on this one. Always call ahead anytime you make a reservation over the net. I've never had any problems at MS but I'm pretty good friends with one of the "front desk" girls so I just send a note to her personal email and she makes the booking for me.

Don't know what the prices are like these days. No Internet which is the main reason why I switched to the Grottino as it's free there. Grottino rooms are definitely nicer because they are brighter and more airy - but only at the front. At the back you look out straight on to the Westin multi-story car park and the drivers look straight back at you. No guest fee in either but the the Grottino has the advantage of a swipe card side entrance for those that have a thing about the walk of shame. Ehm, get over it.
All that said I've a soft spot for the Majestic. It's nice to hear the hum of NEP and be able to look out over it. When you have selected your takeout from there, from Angels Disco or from Nana car park you can be back in your room with a Subway or a bag of bugs in minutes. I always found the staff very friendly indeed including the chamber maids one or two of whom I would have been tempted by. Some of the key reception staff got moved over to the Grande so maybe things have slipped off a bit. The overnight security always had a great attitude as well. I got into a complicated situation with a girl a few years back and they were really great at sorting things out both for me and for the girl. They also wised me up the first time the Travel Survey people called me to tell me that I had won an amazing prize. So I'd give it a shot maybe. Compact, mega convenient and you could bring home three lil brown girls in a row each night there if you have the stamina. (I did, but I'm not sure I could now!)

I need the internet at grottino and I agree the car parr rooms towrd the hotel are not so great. I keep the shadce pulled. grottino sometimes full so need a backup.. maybe they have wifi at majestic?

No wi-fi at the Suites but they do have it at the Grande. It's expensive though. Can't remember the day rate but I decided not to pay it.
