Does any recent stayers at CL19 know if they still charge the 589 bt for Internet? BKK is always part business and holiday before going up country.. If there is the Internet fee I'll look else where. Thanks!

Yes, they still charge for internet, but you can walk over to Time Square in 3 minutes and use the internet cafe there. Don't know whether they allow you to connect your laptop to their network.

Pointless if you can't use your laptop in your room -- there's plenty of other places offering complementary WiFi for their guests, in the room.

Last time I was at Time Square they had several tables with ethernet cables so that you could connect your laptop. Same price as using one of their machines (so I was told).

I wouldn't stay there anyway. Tim's got better hotels nearby for the same price or cheaper (with free wifi). I'd do the Admiral Premier on 23 if I were you. wj

It all depends on personal needs. For someone who needs internet for their job, its inconvenient to walk anywhere. As many Bangkok hotels have free access in their hotel rooms.
City Lodge although well located, certainly have a cheek to charge over 500 Baht for access. Thats nearly the same price as the Plaza Athenee/ Intercontinetal hotel.
City Lodge rooms are old fashioned and dated and they need to sell them below 1,000 Baht, as many boutique hotels have realised the market has changed as they will be left out in the cold unless they change. Prime examples of these are Swiss Park and Majestic Suites.
They have been the most popular hotels for yrs or so. Hard to get rooms and booked up months in advance. Now they are undergoing renovations as their rooms have not moved on with the times and occupancy is way way down. Majestic Suites even with the amazing location and free wifi is struggilng.
So if you need a hotel around this with free wifi and near to the Bts, then Darjelling at 1,220 Baht is hard to beat. Modern nice rooms as well.

Tim,
I've stayed at both Majestic Suites and Swiss Park, and City Lodge is a higher standard. Rooms are not new, but not shabby either. Larger than Majestic, certainly better than Swiss Park. I particularly like the large showers for joining the girls, sometimes two at a time. The location is excellent, and for 1000, the value is outstanding. I'm trying to talk this place up hoping they'll overbook again next weekend and put me up in the Amari Boulevard once again. 
But yes, you'll have to walk across the street to save money on internet.

In my situation I have to agree. I provide software support for a number of clients in the U.S.. And with the difference in time I need internet access at night while in Asia.
