I thought it strange as well -pretty hard to enforce - with Flava near the elevators - took me by surprise since I will be staying there in a few weeks.

Hi, Would like to know if the rooms are better than the Citadines 23? I am just deciding between these 2 hotels. Getting Citadiens 23 at around $45, and Dream for around $58 (6nights-pay for 5 offer) Wondering which should I go for. Thanks.

Haven't stayed at any of the Citadine's but recently stayed at the Dream - I like the Soi 15 location and the rooms are very clean -room service is great. Beds are a bit hard and there is no bathtub - have stayed at the Dream my last few stays and probably will continue to do so and its GF. I just looked at the Citadine 23 website and the rooms look fairly spacious - the Dream rooms are a bit small but well appointed. Tough choice but you will be fine either way you go.

I stayed at Dream several times, and liked it very much. Something worth noting: The parent company that owns Dream is in severe financial trouble with Credit Suisse. As of mid-August, they were 90 days delinquent on their NY property, and trying to avoid foreclosure. If the New York property is put into foreclosure, it could possibly affect the Bangkok location quite suddenly. They only have the two locations, so a sudden closure of one location could have an immediate impact on the second location. Until the New York property is out of default, I probably would NOT prepay for a room at the Bangkok location, especially if you are traveling several months from now. Better wait and see how everything unfolds. But it's a very nice hotel, notwithstanding its mounting financial issues.

If you use http://www.hrs.com your credit card is not charged outright; only after checking out. However, there is no cancellation, so rain or shine you will at least be charged the first night. As to comparing to Citadines, I prefer Dream. Citadines is very good for the price and I like it, but with a good deal on Dream (like the one I got last time), I prefer the latter.

Thanks for your replies, Calzoid, Buttman, & SMEGMA. Well, I suppose as soi15 is like right between the midnight action happening on the streets, it sure is a great location, I have even spent some late hours there on some of the cart bars put up on the footpath. About Citadines, the only thing that worries me is that it seems like a long walk to the main road! Just a side note: Dream is owned by one Mr.Vikram Chatwal, and he owns not only these 2 dream hotels, but some more too in the US and other parts of the world, and in India, I am aware of 2 hotels that sure belongs to him in India & they seem to be doing great. so I think he should be able to pull of something to save his hotels.

I would say go for it. Slightly higher than Citadines, but really insignificant when looking at the difference in service. If price difference is THB 500 or more and I am staying for over a week, and I am in a saving-money mood, I would go for Citadines.... but for less than 300, it is a no-brainer, and I would take Dream. I like Citadines very much.... but when I stay there, I skip the breakfast. Besides being pathetic, it is gone by 10.30 am or even earlier. Whereas at Dream, I can go down at 11.30am and still enjoy a very decent buffet.

Haha... Smeggy same with me in Citadines... 11:30 doesn't help me much... Throughout the morning hours til at least noon I'm either in recovery mode or in cuddling mode or in action or in all of these... I normally have my breaky at a about 1ish in the German Beerhouse... Their 100 Baht American is just perfect for me... not for the money but for the menue...

cannot find rates close to what is being quoted; did you go direct to the hotel via it's website?
