Courtyard Marriott Hotel review Location: good for shopping & business. Close to 2 Skytrain stations: Rajadamri (5-10 mins walk or free tuk-tuk) or Chitlom (10-15 mins walk). Not much of interest within immediate walking distance, unlike Sukhumvit. You can walk to Sukhumvit in about 30mins if the weather is good. Hotel services: room v good, gym v good, pool average, service discreetly excellent. Ordered condoms through room service at 3am and they arrived within 5mins. Food good and v reasonably priced. Only 1 restaurant. No executive room for Marriott Gold/Platinum members. Internet is chargeable. Price: $134 w/o breakfast through Marriott web site; $106 incl breakfast via asiaroom (but no Marriott reward points). Nightlife: none in hotel. Spassos in Hyatt Erawan in the only nearby option, although Patpong, CM2 and Sukhumvit are walkable when it's not humid. Otherwise it's the Skytrain; Patpong only 1 stop away. Absolutely no problem bringing guests back. The cheapest of the 3 Marriotts in town, so a good option for racking up the Marriott reward nights. But not the best location.

Rate on Marriott.Com is 2999 baht with breakfast. I just signed up for a Marriott Rewards Visa Card and received a free night stay as part of the deal plus 20k Marriott Rewards Points after first purchase. I will certainly use my free certificate for a free night during my Feb/Mar trip and maybe the 20k points for a second night if they post in time. I mentioned earlier I get $100 Marriott Gift Cards at a 15% discount so may combine this deal and stay here more than the two nights. If anyone would like a $100 gift card for $85 to use at this hotel or any Marriott let me know and I'll hook you up. Best if you are in the U.S. as I can mail them to you with paypal payment. Did you read ANY part of this 3 page thread? The skytrain is mentioned in several posts. I can't even say UTFSE. LS

Not trying to get into a pissing match because I just don't care but at the very top of this page is a post from Dec 24 that gives the name of the two closest skytrain stops and the walking distance to each. Not buying the Oct nonsense. Peace. LS

I realize the Courtyard is new, but any experience on what $/THB conversion rate the other Marriott's use for gift cards? I wonder if the rate is so unfavorable that you actually get less than $85 value out of it (thus negating the purchasing discount).
