I'm booked and vouchered into the SGS, I can add another notch to my
5* bedpost after this trip. I've heard they have a good gym, and the location is 6* for my interests! I had a great Sunday Buffett there some years
ago, possibly better than JWMarriott, but also a lot more crowded. I still remember the well dressed Grandma's pushing each other to get the Pekin Duck as it arrived.
Big Mahalo to SaucyTim for intervening and sealing the deal! I almost went back to Le Meridien, but I always really only wanted to be at the SGS this trip. Thanks Tim!

Grand Millenium is the 2500 baht 'Mystery Hotel' these days. A guy on PA booked it a couple days ago. I love everything about the SGS, and have a shitload of Starpoints, but I'll be hard pressed to stay there with this deal out there. wj

If Dream Hotel is your choice then hrs.com always seem to have a good deal. Its currently 1927Bt per night, however pay for 2 & get the third night free

Scanning WOTIF for my next trip, mid-Sept for a week.
The Suk area seems weak at the moment on WOTIF, no Westin deal is apparent, nor the JW or even Landmark(at lower 5 to 4* level). I think the "true" 5* deal of the moment is Le Meridien in Silom, if that is the mystery 2500bht./ WOT that I think it is. Any confirmation?
I liked the Meridien when I stayed right after it's opening, they needed to fine tune every room and only had a few floors open. I thought the gym was nice (a bit small) but the Cafe had great food. Biggest downside was the walk to BTS.

Jimmy: The Meridien is 3000 on the Starwood website and you'll get your SPG points & the Sheraton Grande is 3200 on weekends through most of Dec. wj

The Wotif Suk Mystery 5* (GM?) is showing at 3300 for November with a seperate listing for the Grand millenium at 5061.
Hoping it drops soon.
