Let's compare, Nana is 1000 and J.W. Marriott is 5000 per night plus VAT & service. I don't see why there would be any difference between the quality of the Nana and Marriott. Apples to oranges, guys.

and for 300bht more you can get a superior room at the nana. agree about the apples and oranges, don't think its so much about paying for the services, rather paying for the name.

I travel alot in my business. It pays to become a member of a major hotels frequent stayer program. You are upgraded to suites even though you pay for a regular room. Breakfast, drinks, snacks are on the hotel. Most of the time when I travel for pleasure the room is free and the room is very impressive. It pays to be loyal.

On a recent trip I discovered the Nana Condo, which is just a few steps away from Nana Hotel walking into the lane, ahead of Dynasty, in the same row. A tall block of apartments that are well maintained, regularly cleaned and very tidy and economical. No frills, no breakfast, no TGs (because no lobby) but in the epicentre of all the action all the same. A serious young lady manages the show, popping your deposits into her pocket and working out of a small ground level room. Very quiet and looks unpopulated. But a great bargain if you are hunting for cheap rooms. You get a bedroom with an attached (empty) pantry (no cooking allowed), double bed, TV, phone, aircon.. all for 700 Bht. Wow!
