Hi.
Spoke to Bob when I was in BKK two weeks ago. He stated the all the rooms are ready - they were just waiting for the reception area to be complete.
At over 2k for the cheapest room, I would probably still stay at the Majestic Suites even though it is starting show its age. The hotel may be a good alternative for the folks that normally stay at the Landmark or Marriott.

Give them a little while..... they will drastically budge on their prices!!!! They can't expect to fill the Grande the way they do the little Suites. Just watch their ego drop thru the floor when they try to compete with Marriott. Although the Grande will be on par with the Marriott and Landmark quality wise, they will not have the prestige and marketing power. They will eventually settle at Grand President prices (1300-1800 baht).

Hopefully, they will lower the prices as Chickin suggested. But until then, this is what Majestic Grande have to say about their current prices.....
Their special introductory rates are:
* Grande Superior Room (28 sqm.) : Baht 2,800
* Grande Premier Room (35 sqm.) : Baht 3,100
* Grande Deluxe Room (40 sqm.) : Baht 3,700
Remarks : All above room rates are quoted in Thai Baht, and Nett (inclusive of 10% service charge, government tax, and breakfast).
Their normal rates are:
* Grande Superior Room : Bht. 5,000
* Grande Premier Room : Bht. 5,500
* Grande Deluxe Room : Bht. 6,800
Note : Above rates are subject to 10% service charge, applicable government tax, and on Rooom only.
So, their introductory rates are "suppose" to be cheap. I'll be staying for 1 night trial next month. Will report then.

About a 3 minute walk to NEP and Suky including the wait time to cross the street. Great location.

I hope you are right but somehow I doubt it, this new hotel must have cost a fortune and they will not recoupe their investment charging 1800 baht a night.

majestic grande- can anyone report on rooms, gym, and executive floor evening food and drinks----- at the landmark the rooms are nice- the gym is great- and the free evening snacks are enough for dinner-- should I split my four nights early april 2 and 2- or stay put

It doesn't open until March 15. I usually stay at the Landmark for the same reasons you`ve given, but their prices have gone up, so I'm going to try the Majestic Grand this time.
