Last tour as a morning arrival and the traffic was heavy. The driver took me past the expressway off-ramp for Sukhumvit and instead took a small slip-road several hundred metres further south. We doubled back on the expressway and then left through some gates into a market/schools area which I suspect is only open at certain times. This deposited us on Nana Sua from where it was a relatively quick drive north to the Nana Car Park. This is a decent place to drop as it is hassle free to unload luggage in the car park and then a 1 or 2 minute walk, crossing Nana Sua, to the Majestic.
I'm just not sure whether this route is available at all times or just when the market is opening up/school runers are dropping off.
Correct that route is not always available It is in fact a factory complex with all facilities for employees and families.
If that is closed carry on down Soi zero till you get to the JWM carpark drive through the carpark and turn right on Soi 2 About 100 Meters is the Raj-ah Hotel carpark drive through, it will cost you 20 Baht. Good for peak traffic arrival times.
As a guide If the traffic from Sukhumvit is backed up onto the expressway I always tell the driver to go over and come off on soi 0 as I normally stay on Soi 4 hotel.

I always have a rear facing room, no noise from Nana Plaza, music would be turned off at 1am anyway. The rooms have thick wooden shutters over the windows so very little noise can be heard. I have seen the occasional insect but never seen any ants or roaches.

Stayed there 3 nights this week. Nice, quiet, guest friendly. They give you 2 free bottles of water every day. Room is kind of small but makes it up in style. Perfect for a monger. Ample storage space. nice design. Safe is small but fit my dell laptop, Ipod, Digital camera, Jewelry etc... with no problems. Staff is up kinda early cleaning, but oh well. I will give breakfast a 6. Its presentation scores the most points. No where secluded to eat. You are about 10' at most from the elevator. Heard there were reports of insects in the rooms and bathrooms. I searched and searched to never find any in my 3 nights stay. I will stay here again. Oh, I used Sawadee.com to book and had no problems. They want you to pay in full before arrival with no refunds. Up 2 you.

That's possible at any hotel that allows girls, not just majestic suites. Welcome to Thailand.
In regard to the cockroach problem. I've stayed there many times and never seen a cockroach. But my last stay had some huge cockroaches in the room!

I am currently at The MS.. It is Guest friendly never had a problem with more than 1 girl.. A small problem though this time. They forgot to pick me up at the Airport. Although a bit inconvient. I checked the Newbie information about Taxis and saved several 100's of Baht by picking up a Taxi dropping off a fare.
I think they are paying a little lees attention to the Suites since they opened the other Hotel..
It is still a very convient place.. Nana Plaza around corner.. 1Baht/min internet around Eden and Biergarten 5-10 min walks.. Foot Massage.. Aviva and Lolitas all 5-10 min... I like the place.. I think its going down hill a bit but is pretty far from Bottom.. Off to Pattaya tomorrw. Ciao

What the heck has happened to Majestic Suites rates? I have always paid 1350 baht for a superior for two people from discount travel agents. Now the lowest rate I can find is 1590 baht (their rack rate) !
Does anyone know anywhere with discounted prices for MS anymore?

The rates do seem to have gone up a bit recently, they want 1950 for the deluxe double these days. I've looked around recently but couldn't find anywhere undercutting the prices you get direct from the MS themselves.
