Just to give an update, City Lodge @ Soi 19 now allows for 4 hours/day of free wired internet access, any more costs 550 baht for 24 hours.

I like the hotel fine Max, I stay there quite frequently, just checked out in fact. It's a very good value right now, if you don't need a pool. Location is great. Got breakfast at the Old Dutch, 5 minute walk, but the hotel has a restaurant too. There's no WIFI, it's wired access.

I have just returned to the UK (TR to follow) and stayed 4 nights at CL19.
I booked through HRS and I only paid just under 900 thb per night because of over 60 discount. This discount may have been a low season thing because I can't find it now.
Stayed on the 3rd floor, room was great, bathroom well equipped, good location, all in all well pleased, the room was better than I thought it would be, may have had a refurb?
Reception take ID from girls and ring you up to make sure everything is Ok before giving the love of your life her ID back.
I think that this is a good idea, especially if meeting a lady on the Suk, as I did

Stayed here for 3 nights in December.
$34 or B1134 per night if you use Orbitz with $40 discount coupon for 3 nights.
Unlimited WIFI but internet speed was horrible slow and unstable. Internet username/password was valid for only a few hours but they kept providing me new ones as I requested.
I believe they renovate their rooms recently. Carpet didn't seem so old.
For the price I paid, I was pretty satisfied. Can't beat this location.
Good
- bigger room than newer cheaper hotel rooms
- location.
- renovated rooms.
- price
- friendly staff
Bad
- slow internet
- carpet
- noise airconditioner
- small TV. Cheap bed, linen, and tower.
