Stayed in the Wall Street Inn located in Patpong area 2 weeks back. Standard double bed with free Wifi for Bht 1135 per night, no breakfast. Lots of restaurants in the area so food not an issue. Room and bathrooms were clean and large enough in size.
TV has a couple of English channels and the fridge is well stocked.
Definitely girl friendly, on the first night, while returning at 1AM, there wasnt a single room on my floor where I didnt hear a girl moaning.

It has been a long, long time since I use to stay there. Use to be my regular haunt before I moved to the Suk area. Sounds like they may of actually remodeled the place at some time. When I was there, it was GF but very run down. Thanks for the update!

S SUKHUMVIT SUITES
Standard room at US$63, all inclusive (asiarooms.com) ; stayed one-night (01/10/10).
Opened in 3Q2009, this is a 3-star boutique property operated by a local, but clearly professionally designed and programmed. Surprisingly quiet (yet, right next door to Soi Cowboy, BTS, Asoke Junction).
Nice hardwood floors. Nice bathrooms. Not really amenitized (pool, gym, lobby) for comfortably lounging about outside the room. Rooms are 25m2 (superior), 28m2 (deluxe), 30m2 (suite). Traveling alone (parttime companion only), the superior was fine for me. Maybe the deluxe if travelling with a full time squeeze.
Pros: GF friendly; super clean, new, modern; a great value proposition; super location at Asoke Junction (the confluence of the BTS and MRT) ; 100m from Soi Cowboy, only 5 months old; nice contemporary design; modern amenities (flat screen TV, Internet, etc.) ; no surprises.
Cons: Small rooms (25m2), but the rate is fair; breakfast is sufficient only (but, jeez, who comes to BKK to eat at the hotel).

I think the 1800 odd Baht for their Std 22 Sqm room is so expensive. They are quite nice, but for 1800 Baht, there are better places now.

... also... they warned that construction on the adjoining site would commence sometime in the next few months (I think she said April), and that they would thereafter accommodate hotel guests on the non-construction side of the building.... work expected between 8.00a and 5.00p.
... quite decent of them to say so (and untypical of Thai hoteliers).

Stayed at Emporium Suites (located above Emporium Shopping Mall, at Sukhumvit Soi 24) last week. Through http://www.latestays.com, I paid THB 3,200/night for a large superior room, which included a very good buffet breakfast (not Starwood, or Marriott, equivalent however) and taxes, but not Internet.
It was 'international' 5-star services (as differentiated from 'local' 5-star) across the board. Opted out of their Internet rate, which was rediculously priced, as though Internet service was an exceptional technology, not available at every som tam food cart on the street corner (it is). I used the Internet at Starbucks, conveniently located right downstairs.
Girl tolerant, but I would not say girl friendly. Security is unassailable, with a trained attendant (not a brain dead security cop) posted at the elevators 24/7. Lots of families with kids. I am normally not shy, but I was uncomfortable with the slut du jour I traipsed through the lobby late one afternoon. The side entry doors are locked at 10.00p, forcing anyone entering to use the front doors, passing right in front of the reception desk and all those amused eyes.
I would call this an outstanding rate for the quality of property and service. I stayed here in healthier times, and paid something like THB 5,500 all-in, so THB 3,200 is a solid 40% discount below actual rates (not the published rack rates). The location is superb, with a walk-on to the Phrom Pong BTS Station, accessible from the hotel lobby through the shopping mall (an easy air-conditioned stroll).
But, I'd say better for business travellers and family holiday-makers, than for fornicating.
