Well, after having spent a nite at the hotel and tried all the services I can say that the hotel is ok but most of the Majestic fans will be disappointed.....
The Majestc Grande is aiming to corporate and "high valuable" guests....they are challenging the JW Marriot...
The hotel has a very bright deco', very colorful....rooms are nice and generous, the size of the bathroom is remarkable...nice TV set....food & beverages need to be improved but no doubt they will.....too bad they have only 2 restaurants....fitness is ok, swimming pool is more of a decoration than a real pool even if its size is ok.....2500 baht up per room per nite.
By the way, the building was not originally made for a hotel so they have this funny thing that the suites are on the 12th floor and the lifts to the rooms have direct access to the parking area on the 3rd floor....
Landmark and JW Marriot are still a good and better choice in terms of location....

According to the front desk staff there are no joiner fees for overnight guests. Same policy as Majestic Suites.

Just arrived last night, staying at Majestic Grande. Generally quite impressed (note, have not stayed at Majestic Suites or JW though). Liked the decor. Breakfast was generous. Spa and gym look pretty decent. Pool is smallish. Have got the smallest room (think it is called "Superior"). Room size is pretty nice. Bathroom in this room is on the smaller size though, but pleasant.

How far down the soi is it? Or better, how far a walk from the Nana Plaza? Does the pool get sun most of the day?

I just posted this elsewhere, it might prove of interest. Am sitting in Coffee World on sukhumvit writing this...just got into BKK after 36 hour worth of flights. Some impressions of the Majestic Grand. Very nice staff, my room is extremely nice, I've got the next level up from the cheapist..can't remember what its called. Bathroom OK with tub. The pool is mini and only gets sun from 10 until 1!!!! So far all you sunbathers...better off at the Landmark. A funny thing happened; all of the staff are new and one of the girls on the gym floor was showing me around. I wasn't that interested in the sauna and steam room (more interested in massage possibilities...but no massage for the next two weeks..staff supposidely in training) but she insisted on showing me. Walks in and there are two nude guys trying to cover themselves up with small towels. You all know how "good" thai girls are...she almost fainted, turned all sorts of colors while making a fast retreat with me. Pleaded with me not to mention it to anyone (so please NO REMARKS if anyone stays there). Her supervisor showed up and I said "I have to tell you something about this girl" she turned white thinking I was going to turn her in. But I said that she was an excellent employee and had helped me out a lot. Interesting to note that the hotel is almost full. No more rooms of the same type as mine available. But three floors still aren't finished.
