Nana refubrished their rooms and still keep same price? Sounds interesting - will sure go there for an inspection, I should add it to the VALUE list then. Yes, indeed if you are even nice to the front desk lady (the one who speaks English best - supervisor) you will get a better room. This is true at any place...

Actually, the Nana did raise their rates a year or two ago, but it wasn't much.
I don't think the refurbishment project is finished yet, so there may still be rooms that have not been refurbished.
Last May I learned that the Nana classifies their rooms A, B, and C, with A being the best. Please note this is in addition to the room type (Standard, Deluxe, Suite, etc.) The only way to get an A room is to be a resident guest (live at the hotel), be a known good customer, bribe the front desk, or be lucky.

Just for the hell of it because its the Nana and the only time I staid there before I thought it was a dump; but worth it for the characters this time I'm booked into the Nana, suite room from 15-19 December, at the room rate baht 2100 plus 7%vat per room/night, with breakfast.
I'll take some pics and let you all know what its like.

How strange then that I stayed in Nana when it was fully booked with only 1 room available for me. It must have been the worst room they had (a standard room), or else they would have given it to a complaining customer like you.
And my room was NICE, SPACIOUS AND CLEAN!!!!!!!
If you had to wade thru puddles of vomit after a night of black outs, maybe you should give the bottle a rest and not blame Nana.

I have visited Nana and saw a few rooms, asked them to show various rooms to me (was not staying there). Lady at reception (a supervisor who could speak good English) gave a few keys to the bellman and the rooms I have seen were all clean. There was no problem, I could take one on the spot and pay the official 1200bhat rate (you can get cheaper online). Now if they did refubrish rooms, they will be even better. That is why I am curious to see, and will be visiting soon. You do need a reservation, since Nana does get sold out. Room goes for 1000bhat double incl. breakfast using asiarooms.com. If the room is refubrish, it will be a fantastic value given Nana's location. No little hotel can offer similar service and location (club in the basement with 100s of TGs each night packed). I did see the new pool, it looks very nice (and had quite a few farangs swiming... So at 1000bhat refubrished room, Nana will be number one on my list, replacing Manhattan and Majestic Suites. Noise wise, Nana is better (you can get real quiet rooms there, no constractions etc., if they are high floor not facing NEP).

Just giving my opinion. Everyone should do Nana once, but the President Apartments are the best value for what you are getting in BK (suite, sofa, fridge, etc).
I still think Nana Hotel rooms are disgusting and believe that any wet spot on the floor was either piss or someone missed their money shot. CHEERS.

Please, IT, the President SA are the worst in BKK! Very very dirty, very very expensive, not girl friendly, do not have elevators to the upper floors, rooms have no air con, managers are idiots ( this is partially true), Yuck ! Mr. Bloodybat, pls continue to stay at Nana, it's the best 5-star hotel in BKK with all the Thai hi-so hanging in the parking lot in all early morning hours. You will find your dream girl there for sure. Pls stay there and do not contact President SA. Thanks.
