Regarding your request from a few days ago, don't know if you figured it out yet, so...
when you're on wotif, go to the mystery deals, look at the room size and amenities listed, copy that and paste to google, you can usually get a hit. Or, pick your neighborhood, look at the special, scroll down and search each hotel till you find similar room size, then look at the amenities and then distances to specific sites/locations that they offer.
As an example, the Renaissance lists 37 sq.m. rooms, and some of the property details include things like "unheated indoor pool", which is an odd improvement and, while I didn't check, maybe unique. That's how you do it.
Okay, so right now, in the Suk, the 2900 baht deal is the Renaissance Ratcha, a bit of a walk to the BTS but a nice hotel and good deal. I think this is misplaced, it should only come up under a Siam search, it's up by the InterCont and I think the Suk search should stay from the JW Marriott down to the Grand Hyatt or so. My opinion.
The Silom deals are the Dusit @ 21-2500 baht, the Le Meridien inc. brk for 2 (damn good breakfast!!!) @4k. The LeM is a really nice hotel but a real truck to the BTS, the Dusit is tired but has a great location for BTS/MRT.

actually I think the small sampling of sex tourist is a great indicator of thailands tourism..............lol.
the sex tourist is the hardest to drive away, and if these guy are cutting back can you imagine the non-sex tourist.
AGAIN- DOWNTOWN BKK BURNING IS NOT AN EZ THING FOR PEOPLE TO FORGET. and los is only 2 years removed from grannies closing an international airport.
