You all know how "good" thai girls are...she almost fainted, turned all sorts of colors while making a fast retreat with me. Pleaded with me not to mention it to anyone (so please NO REMARKS if anyone stays there). Her supervisor showed up and I said "I have to tell you something about this girl" she turned white thinking I was going to turn her in. But I said that she was an excellent employee and had helped me out a lot. Interesting to note that the hotel is almost full. No more rooms of the same type as mine available. But three floors still aren't finished.
I stayed there recently and the exact same thing happened when the girl showed me the locker room. Maybe that's a standard part of their tour to walk in on naked guys in the locker room and act surprised.
I thought the cheapest rooms (2900 baht) were a little small. At 2900 baht, that is basically twice the price as majestic suites. The Majestic suites is in a better location. For 3500 baht I can stay at the Marriott which is much roomier and has a better location.
The Grande does have in room wireless internet. 1 hour = 150 baht, 3 hours = 300 baht, 1 day = 550 baht.

Back in Coffee World. The larger room I've got is costing me 3100 a night (special price according to them). Its OK sized, but having spent the night I've got some more items to report. First of all, its close to the action...about a three minute walk to NEP. I was wrong about the hours of sun at the pool. Got to get out there early because the logistically best located lounge chair runs out of sun at about 10:45...therefore no sun for late sleepers. Whoever designed the gym didn't know what he was doing. OK treadmill, good selection of dumbells, but only a couple of triceps push down machines with up to 27.5 kilos of weight. A bench press machine..no pec deck, no leg press, no lat pull down. Nobody using the gym either...so everything wasn's negative.
There seems to be a general problem with the water pressure. I think that when someone in the room next door flushed the toilet when you are in the shower, you end up getting scalded. I don't think I have ever moved so fast jumping out of the shower this morning.
A guy I was talking with at the pool (at 10 in the morning before the sun went behind the building) told me that there were cost over runs of 40%...could have something to do with the teething problems...but I think that there will be a giant tooth ache due to the location of the pool.
Nice breakfast buffet and the staff are all very, very helpfull and nice. Definitely girl friendly also.

Just check in yesterday.
Stay at Sup. room at the back side of the hotel with a lovely view of the city.
room is a bit smallish but every thing's new, so it's cover up the size.
The staff are very very friendly, and no any trouble to bring overnight guests.
Location great - 5 minuts walk to nana.
didn't try the brakefast - was still sleeping with the tilac.
They won't disturbe you for room cleaning even if it's 2pm.
Not sure if it's worth the price (2,500 ) you can stay for much less at Novotel Lotus, but for 3-4 days it's fine.

Stayed 1 night there a few weeks back. Everything true from all other reports. A few other note:
1). room door won't close by itself. They screwed up the construction so you actually have to slam the door shut yourself.
2). very friendly staff but far from being as professionally trained as the 5 star hotels like JW and Starwood that it's trying to compete against.
3). still no bottle opener so don't buy any bottles.
4). Hotel was still under some constructions/touch up when I was there on March 16.
After arriving at the hotel, the bell boy helped me with my bags and told me to check in and they would bring it up. After checking in and waiting for 20 minutes, I gave up and went out. After coming back a few hours later, my bags were still waiting down at the counter.
IMHO, after the constructions are all done, and the staff have a bit more experience, the hotel is going to be a nice 4 star hotel if it keeps its' price down.

It's my fifth day up there :
1) The b/f is very poor compering to other 4-5 stars
hotels around.
2) The bathroom remain wet for long time after finish
shower, they have some problem with the fan
there, I told them after the first night but they did
nothing about it.
3) yes, very friendly staff.

Stayed there for 10 days and had a great time. Booked the bigger room with 45 sqm for 3.900 and was happy with it. Liked the room much more than the rooms at Landmark - more stylish and the "walk of shame" is not the same like in other 5 star hotels. No problem with girls - I can recommend this hotel.
