I'll be in BKK in May and plan on staying at the Landmark. Couple questions: -what's the best site to book online? -are the Lifestyle rooms worth the extra expense? thx

I'm sure there will be different opinions about this, but I''ve generally found it best to book directly with the hotel itself. Many of the booking sites don't include all charges or taxes in the prices they cite. Check to see if you're eligible for any sort of corporate discount through your employer or if a credit card you hold entitles you to any discounts. Also check on the Landmark website (www.landmarkbangkok.com) for specials. If you do find a site that is offering a substantially cheaper rate on an "apples-to-apples" comparison basis, then you can always email the hotel to see if they will match the price. Regarding the Lifestyle rooms - There's very little difference in the room itself, the extra money covers the breakfast buffet, snacks and drinks during the day, use of the lounge, and some other perks. Try Rob at http://www.siareservations.net I have used him twice before when booking the Landmark. Book a high floor as lower down the road is a bit noisy (the 25th is the highest before paying a premium, its also a non smoking floor.) Havent booked a suite, first time booked a deluxe double, last time a superior double, same same size bed and shower (more than enough for 2, 3 is a bit of a squeeze) although superior doesnt have settee and desk. The offer available is stay for 4 nights in a superior and only pay for 3. (excludes breakfast which is about 700bht) Try the Japanese resturant in the Landmark, not cheap but not silly money, my tg loved it for some reason web site address missing a off, asiareservations.net Baz

Book your rooms through the link to Precision Reservations provided on this site. This site needs money and is going to become a paysite, unless we contribute in whatever way possible. This site get's a small commission (for the click) when you link through to PrecisionReservation, who also offer the best rates. ... or be ready to pay up for using this site's service in the next one or two months. You are going to pay for your room anyway - why not help the forum that help's you. please view... http://bkkx.com/cgi-bin/forum/topic.cgi?forum=24&topic=1975&start=30

That is not always the case, I can't speak for the Landmark but I booked into the Majestic Grande for 2,700 baht through Asiarooms and when I wanted to extend my stay the hotel said they could not match that price and charged me 2,900 baht. Asiarooms always include all charges and taxes in the price they quote.

Hi, can somebody please provide the newest information on Landmark: some sources say it's girl-friendly, but after asking at asiahotels I got an official answer that they want 1000,- Bht joiner fee. So: what should I expect? I'll be probably staying at Club Floor. Thanks, nm69 The original post...............Thank you too....I will be seeing you you soon.... P

Oreally, It is girl friendly and actually you can bypass the walk of shame because there are entrances. Also I think asia rooms and other sites have joiner fees posted but enforcement is up to the different hotels. I had the same message when I booked for Royal President and Grand President and those are serviced apartments. Never had problems bringing in girls to either of these places or Landmark.

I am thinking of staying here next april for my next trip. It is much closer to then hyatt but much further for shopping as u most likely have to take the sky train instead of walking. I heard the guest rooms are a bit small though how are they compared to the hyatt. The restaurants at the Landmark are pretty good though. I have just stayed at the hyatt during the last week of April and it was very good. Might stay there again but thinking of Landmark or Marriot. I will be staying longer next time, 5 days was to short.

Be careful. All webs must adher to The MSP of the Majesic Grande. Eg 2990 Baht for Grande Superior. The hotel is clamoing down. Any booking coming from webs not adherring. You will be refused check in and will have to pay full rack rates. Precision are following this hotel policy. Tim

I was a big fan of Precision but lately have had problems since they joined Agoda! Missed bookings & very high charges for changing anything plus very unhelpful operators!
