The Sheraton never asked for girls ID's when I use to stay there a lot in 2004-2005.

I am retruning to BKK after a 2 year absence - can't wait... Thailand beauties, great food, eden club and maybe some golf.
I have been reviewing posts on hotels etc and have managed to confuse myself no end!
I would be very interested in getting some other members opinion on the choice between Sheraton Sukhumvit, Westin Sukhumvit, Dream Hotel and The Davis as places to stay in BKK.
As you can tell I am treating myself on this holiday, have been working damn hard the past 2 years so think I deserve a little luxury. The key criteria for selecting/judging the hotel is:
1. Size Of Room: Previously I have stayed at Park President Apartments as I prefer to have more space, but have found they are becoming slightly run down and a little dingy. I have no probloem springing a little exra for a suite or larger room, as long as there is room enough to swing a cat and chase 2-3 lovelies around without bumbing into each other.
2. Girl Friendly-ness: Do they ask for id? Do they have security lifts? forcing you to come down stairs and pick up your girl from reception. Is there a long walk of shame or is there a discreet bat cave entrance enabling you to smuggle a thai beauty to your room without bumping into your boss, bosses wife or some judgemental christian evangelist who glares at you the entire time?
3. Location: Central location without necessarily being in the middle of Nana Plaza. Places I prefer to go to are Eden, Soi 33, Bed, Q-Bar, Sky Bar etc with some stop overs in Soi Cowboy.
4. Facilities: Decent pool for curing nasty hangovers and a chance to add various tones of red and pink to my wintery beige complexion.
5. Decent food - either in restaurant or room service in case I decide to impersonate Howard Hughes and simply have food, drink and hot and cold running babes deleivered to my door for an extended 48 hour period.
Any points of view on the above hotels based on the outlined criteria would be welcome. Happy to reciprocate with information on SH hotels, places to go and stay.
Many Thanks

If you want luxury, a good sized room, girlfriendliness, and location you should expand your search to some serviced apartments.

I use to stay for a couple of weeks at a time at the Westin or Sheraton while coming here. However, now I am pretty much sold on the serviced apartment concept. You normally will get a very nice big room for a whole lot cheaper then a big hotel, and no hassles at all. They leave you alone to do your own thing. You might not get all the constant ass kissing that you get a normal hotel, but you are still treated very good. It is also nice to have a real little kitchen, where you can store booze, water, and food, and not have all those mini bar hassles or ass raping for a bottle of water.

Sheraton Suk easily beats the Westin, IMHO. Although I do really like the buffet dinner at the Westin. Sheraton has much nicer rooms, a good health club and is more guest friendly in that the 'walk of shame' can be virtually avoided entirely by bringing your 'friend' in via the downstairs entrance and going straight to the elevator. The Westin 'walk of shame' will put both you and your friend on display to the entire welcome staff, the entire lobby lounge and everyone in it, the concierge desk and the front desk.

Sheraton has a great swimming pool. It's like swimming in a lagoon in paradise. It is also very guest-friendly. Rooms are very nice as is the lobby. Highly recommended. It's my second favorite after Shangri-La.

Never been at any of these places, live here, so just hearsay:
If money or style is of any relevance to you the Davis can be a nice option because their internet discount rates (e.g. http://www.asiatravel.com) are like 50 % of Sheraton... makes a hell of a mongering budget... and it's by far the more stylish place... bit remote though, but Soi 24 has it's own options... very good comments from friends...

The biggest down side to the Davis is traffic around the hotel - one can sit and sit and sit in a taxi. And the BTS is not right there like at the Westin or Sheraton.

If you plan a bit in regard to when you go to/from the hotel you can miss the worst of the traffic.

Anyone know the walk in (off the street) prices for buffet breakfast at either the Westin or Sheraton on Sukhumvit.

Guess both will be pretty steep, so anybody have other recommendations for full (English/American/Buffet) breakfast around Sukhumvit Soi 19 area?
