Stayed at both hotels. Plus for Sheraton - well designed and most relaxing swimming pool on 5th floor (+great pool side dinning), lower level elevator directly to room floor (no walk of shame), awesome buffett. Minus - no executive floors. Plus for Westin - Most beautiful hostesses at the lobby lounge, executive floors with great snacks throughout the day, free condom in room (I found that hard to believe but there were there! . Minus- lousy swimming pool. must transfer elevator from street level to hotel level. Big time walk of shame!

I have stayed at both. If you are going to hang out on the property more stay at the Sheraton for the pool. In addition Sheraton provides SPG members some free cleaning for clothes when you arrive. Sheraton is nice but furnishings are older than Westin.
If you have game stay at the Westin and try to close on one of the fine waitresses.

All in all its hard to decide witch one is better, I like them both very much.
Btw, I like the beds better at westin cant beat them

Back in December, there was some construction going on between Asoke BTS platform and Sheraton, Westin, and Robinson Dept store. Anyone able to confirm if work is complete?

The BTS skywalk construction is complete. Connects Asoke directly with Sheraton Grande (next to the main lobby entrance), Time Square, and Robinsons. Very convenient.
Just walked on it 5 minutes ago. It held up nicely.

Starwood is offering a branded American Express card. Free for the first year, and 30 USD after.
When you make your first purchase, you get 10000 bonus Starwood points. Enough for a free night stay at either the Westin (7000 points) or the Sheraton (10000).
Even better, in my opinion, is that there is a cash plus points option that is offered at the Sheraton, but not the Westin. 4000 points plus 60 USD for each night.
With the 10000 bonus points, the points I earned last year staying at the Sheraton, and the points I earn from AMEX card purchases... I should easily have enough points by my September trip to stay for a week at the Sheraton for 60 USD per night.

Both hotels are pricing themselves out of my budget.
But Westin is running a promotion now; stay 3 nights and get the fourth night free.
I waited too long to book the Sheraton with cash plus points and that option was not available.
So for September, I am getting 3 free nights at the Westin with Starwood points and then 3 nights at 5600 with the fourth free. So 7 nights total at 16800. Not bad.
And this will be my first opportunity to compare the Westin to the Sheraton.
