Since my November post I have stayed at GP 6-7 more times. Prices have stabilized but much higher that a year or so ago. They have redone most of the hotel but many of the rooms in Tower II need to be done again already. I guess we are hard on them. The Japanese restaurant in Tower II is really good and priced fair. The most notable difference is the significant increase in middle eastern guests. The buffet in the morning reflects this as does the room service menu. I would estimate that many times in recent months it feels as though there are more ME guests than other foreigners. I bring this up becaue at the GP they seem to arrive with families in tow. I just wonder in the long run if this will change the GP attitude about girls. They are very girl friendly now. I hope it lasts.
I was there this month and will be there again next month. Sometimes I get angry with things that happen there but so far I have not found a better fit for me in terms of cleanliness, cost, GF, convenience.

My experience has been that it is hardwire only in most rooms. The broadband works fine but not over wireless. I have occassionaly found a wireless connection that works but I don't plan on it. I will try again this week.

Grand president is sooo GF. Even the guy will bring u the TG to ur Room. Stayed their before several times. never had any problems

There's the new President Palace, opened on Dec. 1st. Looks great and introductory rate is about 3kB now.
And there is the new Citadines in Soi 11 a few steps behind President Palace opened on Nov. 1st. Introductory rate of 1885 B.
I also like "citi chic" hotel on the connection to soi 13. Opened late 2007. About 2300 B. Fully booked many times.
If you stay in Soi 11 and you have a girl already don't miss the "Nest" al fresco roof top bar of the Fenix hotel round the corner, opposit of Q-bar. Cool & cozy...
And "Chilli Culture" at the corner is a nice place for Thai dining.
