I am a Starwood points collector and therefore would prefer to stay at Sheraton or Westin. There is only $5 per night difference in rates and almost the same location. I hope someone has experience of staying at both of these hotels. I understand that they are of the same level. But it is impossible to understand from their websites if they have the same sized rooms? And where the pool area is better and pool is bigger? And the last and most important question is: where lobby and corridor area is better when accompanied by lady? Thanks in advance.

KK: I've stayed at the Sheraton 11 times and the Westin twice. I stayed in both in the last month and will be back in one of them in September. The Westin is a lot cheaper to burn Starwood points. The Westin is a great hotel; recently refurbished and good buffet style cafe. Pretty good gym and a new health spa although I've not tried either. The pool area is a bit spartan and lacks effective shade from mid-morning. It is guest friendly though always best to register for two guests. There are two walks of shame. The first short one on the ground level and the second longer one up in the lobby past all the desks to the tower lift. Not for the bashful. The Sheraton is superb. Oversized rooms, clothes hanging room, separate oversized bath and shower. Choice of restaurants is excellent. The pool is one of the marvels of Asia. A 20 year mature rainforest 7 floors above the chaos, grime & heat of Suk Rd. You can take breakfast there if on certain room rates. Has an excellent gym and health spa although the spa is very expensive. (Go around to the King & I for legit massages. And while in the same Soi head up to Cabbages & Condoms for dinner.) Sheraton is guest friendly and very easy walk of shame. Enter at ground level adjacent Rivas and walk straight to the tower lifts. No need to go through the lobby. Regards, F46

Thank you FFS, what about Rivas? What time does it start to get busy? I know it should be expensive for girls but hope it is a better quality, no?

Rivas sucks plastic cocks. Nothing but over-used 35 year old ho’s there, expecting $100 ST from lazy fat business men on expense accounts.

.... lazy fat business men on expense accounts.
Chill Shade....these folks need attention also And what is expected depends upon many factors including negotiation and the number of days. They do tend to dress better, probably due to several sponsors. If u want to spend ST with a tight young bar-bimbette, use a short time hotel.

Two years ago during my first and only visit to BKK I stayed at the Hyatt. On my first night we had a great time in Spasso and at the end of the day picked a girl nicely serving me and my GF for 1500 Bt. I visited couple of other places in Thailand after that but none had similar conditions: live band, dancing, drinks, cool atmosphere, 1 min AC walking distance to the room. I am not saying that I will not leave Rivas every night but definitely it is one of the spots to visit if you can afford and definitely if you are staying in the room upstairs.

KK; I think F46 summed it up well. I've stayed at both hotels a couple times each and will stay again as (1) I'm a Starwood points slave and (2) I really value the proximity of these hotels to the MRT-BTS Asoke interchange. Only other thing I'd add is that WGS seems to be geared a little more towards the business traveler whereas SGS has more of a luxury hotel feel to it (JMHO). Cheers, - B -

No. And it doesn't get busy because it's expensive AND crap.

The Sheraton is the better Hotel although the Bar in the Westin I like alot because of both the good Atmosphere and the very cute Waitresses!!! Also unlike the Sheraton they don't charge non-guests to go to the Bar!
