I'm arriving on 29 December and staying through 04 January 2006. I think I found the hotel I want to stay at from this site. It's called the Town Lodge Hotel. I'm booking a Jacuzzi Suite for the entire stay and I've chatted in emails with the Hotel and theyclaim they are 'visitor friendly' which isa good thing. Now to my questions:
1, Is this a good Hotel?
2. What area am I in and what's around it?
3. Should I look into another Hotel that may be nearer to the 'action'?
I'm coming in from Iraq, via Kuwait and this is my first time in LOS. I've been to Pattaya Beach and Phuket a few times before but that was circa 1987-1991 in my younger days in the Navy...lol
Any advise, suggestions or even an ass chewing will be accepted because I am a FNG!!!

One more question...I arrive at/around 0830 in the morning and after clearing customs (not really sure what to expect) most Hotels will not allow very early check-in. Is there any place to go where I can leave my luggage safely and then where to explore LOS at 0930-10am?

At least you expect an ass chewing--which you will get from others by not UTFSE.
Anyway great location--across from Soi Cowboy--in Wash sq--got night club. A nice walk from NANA. Also easy to get to Soi 33.

Does anyone know what the weather willbe like in late December to early January? Also, how much should I expect to pay fortaxi from the Airport to the Hotel? Any news on New Years eve Parties or happenings "Not to Miss"? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Dont worry about the weather, that is least to worry about. You are coming over for a good time chasing girls arent you, they do not care about the weather.
At arrivals at airport, do not go outside on the ground floor and pay 6-800b for a limo to the hotel. Go upstairs to departures and grab a metered taxi that has just dropped someone off as they will be mostly heading back into town empty. 70b for tollway and around 120b for ride.

Defresh, I will be staying at Town Lodge from 25th Dec till 5th Jan. You will enjoy your stay that I can guarantee. So Im tipping we will meet up and hopefully u like a drink

Spend the extra money to reserve your hotel for the night prior to you getting there, that way you can just take a shower, and get some rest right away if you need it. Don't be cheap. When you are sitting around tired somewhere you will pay the extra cash to get cleaned up and settled, but if you don't reserve it, it might not be avail.
