I wanted to know what hotels allow this? Also if you are staying at a different hotel when you return can you store your luggage at either hotel? Has anyone had any problems with their luggage beinge stored?

I have stored luggage for a few days at both the JW Marriott and the Landmark when I have traveled upcountry. The caveat is that I spend one night in the hotel on both ends of the storage period...

I asked a similar question a couple of years back. The consensus then came back it would be no problem. So I tried it out at two hotels in BKK- both with no problems. In the first case, I was at Tai Pan Hotel [soi 23] for a week, checked out to go up country and had booked a room at another place, in BKK, on my return to BKK. They weren't told of the new venue upon re-arrival. I just asked if I could store a bag for a couple of weeks. When I came around again and collected that bag and promptly hailed another taxie they were good with it. In the second case, I was at Meritus Suites in State Tower Bldg. for almost a week. Went back stateside for about 6 weeks and was booked into another venue on return. Again- no problems at all. In both cases, I think I tipped about Bt100 upon my reunion with the luggage. I would just ask them if they can store luggage and, assuming they say yes, ask if they have room for your bag (s).

I have almost always stored my large/checked luggage in my first-stop (3-5 star) hotel on most trips to Thailand, after starting off in BKK for a few days and meandering elsewhere through LOS with only my smaller/carry-on. The only question raised was "for how long?" (usually a week or so.) They have rooms set up for just that purpose, so no problemo. Expect to get a tag/receipt from them for each bag/item.

Echo China Sailor - probably best to be staying there upon your return, though you could always take the bags to the new place for them to hold. Also echo Skip - a tip is always appreciated. I tend to tip upon seeing my bags off, as well. FYI - I've done this at Westin Grande and Grand President.

I usually keep my room throughout my trip, and use that to store everything (grin), though my experience previously has been that my primary hotels lets me store my luggage stuff with them while I was travelling.

Nothing, if you provide your own security for it.

Before I got the house I always stored my "not want to carry" items in the hotel luggage store. Normally one large box and a case. The items are either in my room when I'm there or stored for me. I was in the hotel 8 weeks a year and items stored 44 weeks a year. Absolutely no problems.
