Straight up and honest from the beginning,,,,, do I benefit,, yes if you use my name as the reference I get one bottle of wine per person referred....LOL.
Thought long and hard if this should be in the promotions section but I think not, the possibility of a bottle of cheap wine is not my reason for passing on the details.
Hotels are available throught the world at good prices but for here lets stick to Bangkok.
I'll compare the advantage price against the best price I can find thru various on-sellers such as Asiarooms, R24, hoteldiscounts etc etc.
Examples,,,,
1) Grand Sukumvit by Sofitel, others 4050 BHT, discount card 2380+BHT
2) Sofitel Asoke residence, others 4030 BHT, discount card 2635+BHT.
3) Sofitel Silom, others USD 132, discount card USD 89+.
4) Chateau de Bangkok, others 3,344 BHT, discount card 2545 BHT +.
5) Grand Mercure park avenue,, others 2305 BHT, discount card 1538 BHT+
6) Novotel bangkok Siam square,, others 3831 BHT, discount card 2601 BHT +.
6) Novotel Suvarnabhumi 6104 Vs 3400+
These are some of the better deals on hotels in BKK, as stated they have hotels throughout the world also at great prices for you frequent travellers. More specific to Thailand they have good deals in Phuket, Chaing mai, Pattaya, Khon Kaen, Chon Buri, Krabi, Nong Khai etc etc etc.
The card offers 1 night free per year and 50% discount on dining for the card holder. Some of the listed hotels have excellent buffet's etc and this could be excellent saving for those Gourmets amongst us.
I've listed the "higher" end hotels, but they also have lower end hotels around 700BHT that offer nice savings for those on a smaller budget ( me included).

Frank, the cars is purchased,, I got it in Australia for AUD$200.
IBF I got those rates directly from the accor.au site this afternoon assuming booking one month in advance.
The prices are available only to members ( sign in with password)
Weekend rates are often same as week day if you book a month or more in advance,, but does vary.
Give some specific dates and hotel name and I'll get back with price. I would like to give out my access password but doubt everyone on this site would do the right thing : (

IBF, your links do not actually show the prices for members and are just a summary.

Mel – I guess I don’t understand why Accor would post the rates in my link if they were not the rates one should expect should they get the card? The link is directly from the page promoting the card, so it would make since to have applicable rates to allow one to make a knowledgeable judgment as to the real value of the card.
I mean what does this statement really mean?
Exclusive member’s only rate with minimum of 15% discount off the best unrestricted rate of the day on accommodation available all year round with last room availability.
Best unrestricted rate of the day does not really mean much to me – sounds a bit too close to rack rate.
One could come close to justifying the card for the one free night, and the food savings alone if one eats at the hotel they stay at often.

IBF as I said that page is a summary,, and the words MINIMUM DISCOUNT is clearly stated.
I have no idea why they do not show the real price to non members. Perhaps it has something to do with updating pages continually.

I'm just trying to show the guys on here a good deal.
I'm happy to quote the price on any hotel at any given date for you IBF,, discounts peak between 2 and 4 weeks from current date.
I've tried copy paste,, but it all comes out length ways and uses way to much room on BKTF.
Lot of work for a cheap bottle of wine,,LOL.

PS guys what is wrong with you? Mel is trying to share useful information and he has a lot of experience traveling to Thailand (and doing business there). Such cards are indeed a very good way to go. Some are available from other hotel chains in Thailand for various disconts incl. on food (e.g. 2 or more people dining together one eats free, or up to 50% off for two people - so the lunch or dinner buffet at 5 star hotel looks very cheap if indeed 2 share etc.). So why being so negative on Mel????

I had the Accor Advantage card last year and used it mainly for food which was 50% off in most places. Regarding room discounts, I found comparable rates on Precision reservations. The bonus was supposed to be the free room in any Thai hotel/resort as long as you book the 2nd night at preferential rates as part of the bargain. Problem with that was that most hotels/resorts said they had a limited amount of rooms that could be booked using the Advantage Card so we had a very difficult time finding a room where we wanted to stay which was Sofitel Hua Hin. We had to extend the card (for free) by one month to book the room and declined the offer to extend for 1 year.
