If I were to stay at a Marriott hotel but book the tickets through say Agoda or Wotif, would I still earn any Reward points?
TIA

You do not earn points in any situation where the payment is made to a broker instead of the hotel directly.

Priceline put me in a Marriott once on a 'blind-bid' and Marriott gave me my 'Gold' upgrade but no points. The upgrade was done as a courtesy as the hotel was under no obligation to provide member privileges to me when I booked through an agent...

I thought that might be the answer

I have just over 19K Marriott reward points and I want to get to 20K, use them and forget the scheme.

The miles have been accrued over about 5 years and I don't want to let them lapse.
If I purchase major items on my Marriott rewards C/C it will reach 20 in due course, funnily I did not book my forthcoming flight on this card because it expires 31/10 and I did not want the replacement card to have a different number because I have an e-ticket and need to show it at check in.
Thanks for your help guys.

why cant u just keep the old card??? do you physically have to return it?
and I also have purchased flight e-tickets with cards and had that card renewed or replaced, usually they dont care as its only the last 2 digits if any that are different, and u can always show the old card or photocopy if u have too

after 15 years of extreme frequent flying I cant recall many if any times I have been asked to show the card that I booked the ticket with
and I have even booked tickets on other named cards and not had that card with me

Yes, you could probably have done that, I just didn't want any problems, when I am off to LOS the less probs the better, and for sure some will crop up.

Like CS said, you might catch an upgrade though. I have many times with Hyatt and Starwood (even using Priceline). wj

I first got into Marriott through Priceline, I stayed at JWM 2 or 3 times, Priceline does not offer many deals in Thailand these days.

I spent a week at the Marriott Resort and Spa on a reservation from Latestays.com. At first they only credited me with 1 day + cost of incidentals. After talking to customer sevice I ended up faxing in the latestays receipt and recieved credit for all 7 days.
