Hi Guys
Not visited tle LOS for six years now - always stayed at the Asia in Bangkok, it's been OK but nothing to shout about but OK for a couple of nights.
Wondered what it is like now.
Would be grateful for any recent updates

If your happy with a friendly safe Hotel without all the fuss of the larger Hotels a true mongers place to stay with in room safes TV lots of channels + dvd player if you want to put some porn on ?
even condoms supplied so you never run out lol

Close to Soi Cowboy Quite location girls on site good 2 go
toxic bar for early night starters, very clean with wifi in room

... bag Asia Hotel... in the 6 years since you were in BKK, many, many new hotels have opened, far better designed and managed to accommodate foreigners... others might know better, but my bet is that Asia Hotel is now the central bus terminal for Chinese bus tours.
... also, the life-spans of Thai owned and operated buildings are measured in dog years... 6 years is a lot of decay.
... some great deals out there... BKK hotel market is being crushed by a tremendous supply-demand imbalance, and the high season is over.

Thats not in the same price range if ive got this right he wants to cheap it on some 2 nd rate airline for 400 quid and stay in a hotel with the cheapest double room ( online ) 2 k. But its his holiday so up to him.
The prices of Asia hotel are more in line with 4 star
as I only need somewhere to sleep and use 3 star I cannot help.
Town Lodge is a great choice though

It might help if you say which area as Asia hotel is not where I would stay.
Town lodge is right next door to cowboy in the Nana area are many hotels
fitting the description of what you require.
You could try a couple of days at Town lodge and if its not what you want find somewhere else. Hotels are like girls in thailand everywhere and easily available  .

thats what confused me, he mentioned some hotel from donkeys years ago and admits it was nothing special, was then recommended by everyone a decent enough hotel at a decent enough price, girl friendly, internet, etc etc and says he wants recomms on the same price?
well how much was asia hotel 6 yrs ago???
$20 a night?!
$200 ?!

I stayed there in February 2011. The room was newly renovated.
Got the latest tech stuff. Oh, they gave me a free upgrade to a more expensive room.

Asia hotel: Not gf. Old rooms. Home of Asian group tours. Sounds like a great place.
TownLodge and many others are MUCH better in ALL regards!
