I have just spent 10 days in Manhattan in Room 435 just above the construction. I did not find it a problem. It did not seem to bother TG either. The construction is likely to go on for a long time and may cause problems from time to time.
I thought the rooms were good and the breakfast buffet is very good. In general food there is very good.
If anyone is interested the fitness centre is dreadful. There are weights, but the lone walking/running ramp and exercise bike are ancient, and look as if they have not been used for years. Limited number of TV Channels which may bother those who want to watch Premiership Games during the football season.

Here is my account of the stay at Manhattan Hotel for 5 nights:

First after my arrival I learnt that the Manhattan Hotel didn't have the booked room with a king size bed and the room faced the construction site, even I had required a quiet room at precisionreservations.com. I was told that I could change the room the next day.
The next morning started with a loud bang at 7am which was followed by excessive drilling and hammering for next hours. Ear plugs did not help and I felt tired all day.

I the evening I was offered a new room only to learn that the new room on the 10th floor was not only located to the construction site as well but was extremely ugly with a large patch of mold on the wallpaper and in some parts the wallpaper peeling from the wall. I had to return to the reception and requested a different room. The next room offered on the same floor had two bed rooms, was a little bit shabby as well and was facing the construction site as well!!! After a serious complain I received a large nice room with a king size bed located to the hotel front finally.

The hotel is, as said before, guest friendly, they even did not ask for the girls ID. The breakfast buffet was ok, but nothing special.

Paid 27 US$ for a twin room at precisionreservations.com
I found service of precisionreservations.com a little bit slow, even uncooperative when I asked them to book two more days. And the prices on the net do not include tax/vat, which makes them difficult to compare.

Next time I will use Siam-online.net again, which actually is a few bath cheaper.

The pool is on the second or higher floor. They also have an exercise room, though I didn't use it.

Hi Guys,

Booked double occupancy and was given a large King Sized bed. Rooms are ok. Aircon nice enough. Electronic Safe in room. Booked in my self from 14th October to 22nd October. The water in the Mini Bar costs 20 B. But, you have jug of water free. Rooms are cleaned and towels replaced everyday. ABF is good IMO.Well, I did not hear any construction noise may be because my room was facing Soi 15.

As I had booked double occupancy never had any problems with my visiting TGs. The reception keeps back their ID cards and no hassels whatsoever. Only thing I could suggest if they could give a call back to the room before handing over the ID card to the TG when she is leaving.

Being on Soi 15 its suitably nestled between Soi 7 on the right and Soi 23 on the left the right as you hit Sukumbit.

Cheers and have fun

Prabal,

When I was at the Manhattan in March, I was away from the main construction site, but was facing the other construction site towards Soi Cowboy. I heard lite construction until 11:00 pm most nights. Has this changed. I paid 920 baht, double occupancy, but didn't get free water.
