I went a couple of days ago. Beer singha 70B. Somebody told me they close at 1.30 now.
Quite a few japs in there. No real lookers so I didnt check prices but could be more expensive now as there are many japs.
Just sit and watch girls coming/leaving. Lots of them are the same walking up and down sukhumvit, going to beergarden soi 7 further up to nana hotel where I prefer to go. I think the chances and selection is better at Nana.

IMO Its a hit or miss place like every other place. I seen a few 7s in there thats worth a try. Don't think I ever seen higher then a 7 though really. I took a girl that was about a 7 IMOthe best girl in the place and she tryed really hard all night to please me so it was worth the 1500LT. Wish I had got her number or something cause I never found her in there again.

Its next door to the Bush garden bar, has always been associated with bottom of the barrel pick up destinations.
Its history is long.
The old woman working there as a waitress now in her early 60s, is worth buying a drink for just to talk briefly about "'the old days"
Sure times change and Themae 3 years ago was still 500 short or long time for many of the sad money desperate girls in there.
I was recently in Bangkok and went there for a drink.
The knowledge that about 50% of these girls have regular jobs by day, and a sprinkingly of uni students, too ugly, and/or shy to try CM2 nightclub are there.
It was end of the month Time when Themae also attracts girls very keen to make rent.
Its been a side show for a long time.
But I was suprised to see some very cute girls about 5% of the 200 odd that were in there seated.
The conversations I had were brief, I hit on several reasonably neat cute under 24 year olds, with the sole intension of finding out prices on offer these days.
The 1000 baht was still the long time mark for most.
A few wanted 1500 (but at first sign of facial disapproval by the Farang dropped to 1000)
Short times were 500 baht most one or two princesses wanting more.
I asked an obvious pair of lesbian/bi Girls about a double and I wanted everything anal included < they asked for 5000, but on a text message later settled for 3000 (between them)
Ofcourse Themae has a long reputation for ""hit and run "" girls. (robbers) so make sure at least the hotel gets the ID, or you lock it in the safe til they leave.
I saw no Japanese at all.
Just a few guys in cheap t shirts and shorts, well plastered and rowdy.
70% of the girls were truely ugly, and even after 3 scotchs remained so.
The best that can be said for this place truely, is that often attractive uni girls, or fresh faced hookers, will wait on the staircase entrance knowing that they will be snapped up. (which they are)
Also a single attractive young mother who works an office by day, might stand out with warm smiles and a slightly innocent face.
Theres a few moonlighters (not seasoned hookers)
And also a few young new arrivved faces, that are just getting some cash together.
Ofcourse if its young attractive uni girls you want, your in the wrong place with CM2 offering much more.
But for a star wars type Intergalatica bar, with a real mix, the place is unbeatable.
The place is also one where you will definately get what you came for, there are at least 10 woman for every male, so its a case of buying a few drinks and (3 or 4) and collecting 10 phone numbers. At 11pm.
Go to nanna plaza or soi cowboy til 1am.
And then texting a few about exactly what you want at !1230pm back in Themaes.

You can have two young cute freelancers who will lick you and each other, f***, suck, take it up the arse and do it again in the morning for 3000 all up!
Or bar fine ""bang "" from fannies on soi cowboy, and line up a themae desperate.
Theres always a mix on offer.
I actually aim for naieve office girl moonlighting, or uni student, young mum that wants to please, or country girl meets city.
But in saying all that Themae figures as an incidental place on my menu.
Its time like the 60 year old waitress has come and gone.

yep.. sad but true, time when Thermae was THE place, you couldnt get in the door for TGs, - and boom time was around 4-5am ! You do sometimes get some young girls there, who cant get into Pubs, or work in a Go-Go, but certainly many better options these days, even outside on the footpath at the nearby foodstalls.

Last time I was in Thermae (2 month ago) I did a little count and there was 37 Japanese guys for 7 Caucasian!
I spoke to a few Japanese telling them I was surprised to find them in this place because they have a reputation of giving big big money to the girls, the reply was that the ones who come to Thermae are the ones who are NOT willing to pay 3000 bahts ST, same story when I asked the few girls I know there about them.
So this is one place that wont get "spoiled" by our Japanese friends.
I took a few girls in this place, most being not so attractive (6) but nice and friendly, so far no problem with robbers...

Excellent post DG, and right on the money. I still find it an interesting place to visit for just the reasons you suggest, the uni, the moon lighting girl. But I have also been quoted some prices that were absurd (4-5,000). And they didn't come down. But there is a grotty attraction to the place that keep me dropping in, at least for a walk about.

Always stay at the Manhatten and use Thermae as a short cut to miss the bloody suit sellers.
