Fellow forum members,, I must admit thinking all the GLOW hype was very much over-done. But after the round table in April I had the pleasure of visiting glow,, it really is a VERY nice bar,, especially the private areas upstairs.
Highly recommended.

Thursday 18 May, DJ NAKADIA is back at GLOW for our famous Thai Super Model Night.
This will be her last gig for 4 months in GLOW as afterwards she will fly to Europe for her European tour till end of September.
She will be arriving in Bangkok tomorrow and she told me she packed her bag with some of the best records on the planet to make GLOW shaking on its foundations.
The GLOW barteam will be on alert for all the cocktail lovers.

Even though Glow has had some difficulties bringing the amount of people they would like to generate a good amount of revenue, one thing that I always admired about Glow is that they tried to give people a different experience in what is presented here in thailand and always refused to bring in hip hop. They refused to cave in to be like all other places who felt it was necessary to survive unless they played hip hop on certain nights. KUDOS!
Now what I really dont understand, is why they wanted to be like everyone else and present a Models night?? Is that the clientle you want to bring?? I know the most responses is that it brings in others to those particular nights? people who want to hang around models. Does it really? I have been at Koi on several occasssions on models nights and saw nothing but models drinking and eating all the profits of Koi that night. most of the time, I see their restaurant side empty. I know there are operating at a lose on those night but is it really worth it to continue? I really feel that kOI IS GETTING A BAD REPUTATION FOR THIS! I feel that the concept at first might of worked, but now its too played out! you find models night everywhere, Bed, Zantika, Koi, Flix, Huk.... and now Glow! I think the only one who benefits are the models!
i dont feel Glow had to ride down this path to be like many others, I think in the long run it will hurt them because all you will see on those nights are the models drinking their free 10 drinks worth and sucking away Glow's profits, and driving away regular customers who hate being crowed around with a bunch of stuck up models. I must also add that there are quite a few models working in town. On average I saw around 30-40 models at Koi, thats approximately 300-400 drink per night!! but at 11pm when their promotion runs out....they all head down to flix to continue their models night and their night of free drinking.
I really think they should re consider, I dont think its necessary for them to be like others, like they refused to be regarding hip hop. I dont know??? maybe Glow will cave in on hip hop as well???

I wonder too how much business this will bring in and it would be hard to tell as such DJ NAKADIA played on two of the models night, so how much was her draw and how much was the Models night.

I consider the BKK "Model Crowd" a bunch of total wankers.
I mean if you are a real Farang model who has your shit together, you are in Paris or New York, not living in BKK.
It is just a night to make their heads just a little bit bigger.
I think more people would come to "Porn Star" nights.
