We visited (RetiredinTahoe, myself and another member) Champagne Charlie's a week or so after it opened.
It's located next to the building with True Fitness. From the Asoke BTS you can walk along the overpass and then walk down the stairs.
As opposed to the old Champagne Room Charlie's has four floors:
- Ground Floor - Restaurant
- Second Floor - Open bar (no membership required)
- Third Floor - Member Lounge
- Fourth Floor - Jacuzzi
These floors can be reached by an elevator or stairs.
We didn't go into the restaurant,so no info on that.
But we did get a thorough tour by one of the cute door girls (who don't go with customers).
In the open bar (much smaller than Champagne Room) you can sit either at the bar or in a booth (with curtains a la Champagne Room). No membership is required.
Drinks are reasonable (for his kind of place) at 180 baht for a bottle of beer. We had three Diet Cokes and the bill was 351 baht (including ++).
There are about 15-20 girls on this floor. Ladydrinks are flat priced at 250 baht. Barfine is 1,000 baht (IMHO quite reasonable and lower than most Soi 33 bars). Most girls go with customers but do check first.
Memberships start at 20,000 baht per year (not lifetime as before) and go up to 100,000 baht. They differ by the number of bottles and ladydrinks included. Any number of guests can drink from the main member's account.
The third floor is strictly for members and is divided in four or five private rooms with flat screen panels. If you're a member you can take any girl from the second floor. I believe there is no room charge for members.
Then on the fourth floor there are conference tables (?) and a fairly sized jacuzzi. Members can take again girls from the second floor.
Conclusion: nice place, they must have spend quite a few baht on decorating the place. Be cautious though with getting a membership... they left their former members in the cold when they decided to close Champagne Room. I think they still honor old memberships but they has been reduced to a year instead of lifetime.
The girls we saw where Soi 33 quality... If you look for something different, it might be interesting to visit it.

Thank you for the information. It sounds really interesting. I'll try it when I visit in November. What happens on the fourth floor with conference tables and jacuzzis? Can non-members go there? Is it all in the open or are the jacuzzis in private rooms? Are there girls up there or do you pick from the second floor and take them up to the fourth?

Non-members can go to the 3rd or 4th floor if with a member. Otherwise, they are not allowed (except like on tours that we took).
3rd and 4th floors are suppose to be booked in advance by the member. The 4 or 5 booths on the 3rd floor can be individually booked. The 4th floor is supposed to be booked only by 1 party. That is because there is no separate room, just an open space with tables, chairs, a bar and a jaccuzzi off to the side. Also, the 4th floor is only available to the top 3 membership tiers (there are 6 tiers of membership).
What happens on the 4th floor is strictly up to the guests. 555 (But, there is no bed, just the tables, chairs and jacuzzi. I guess you can get creative using those and the bar.)
AFAIK, all the girls are on floor 2. You can take 1 or more from there upstairs, or you can BYO.

It's on the same side of Sukhumvit as the Sheraton, but you need to walk east past Asoke and it's way down in the next block between Asoke and Soi 18. It has a nice atmosphere, but the girls did not impress me. The sign said "Charlie's" rather than "Champagne Charlie's."

If you don't mind paying the BTS 15 baht fee, you could take the walkway out of the Sheraton that connects to the BTS, pay 15 Baht to pass through the entry and exit turnstiles, and continue on the BTS walkway to the end. Down the steps and you are practically at the front door of Charlies.

Strange, the barfine is only 1K??? compared to the barfine at the old champagne room....

Actually, in the last months the barfine was already lowered to 1,000 baht in CR.
A fellow member barfined a girl around 3-4 months before its demise.
