I have been to Sukhumvit Street beer bars from soi 5 to soi 13 after gogo bars and it was always full of girls.
This place used to be famous pickup place as well.
However, nowadays the situation has been changed and it was almost empty.
Where all bar girls and gogo bar girls go after work?
During my last visit, I could not figure it out.

These girls go nowadays to after-hours clubs like Tequila Dragon, Spice Club, Spicy Club and Nana Disco.
Why? Simple, because guys visiting these places are better payers than those on the streets. Plus the girls enjoy these places more as a hunting ground where they are able to dance and drink in 'style'.

Maybe its as Dr Love said, because they find it more fun to go to a club and have some fun and a dance instead of walking up and down Sukhumvit or standing on a street corner all night.

I don't think it is a more commercialized situation than before, it's just more... playfull...
See it this way: A club is by far a better place for having fun with girls than the street bars and restaurants. I love my late night Jim Jum and lazy relaxed drinking and watching the crowd go by too and still have it occasionally, but did you ever fondle or even dry f*** dance a sweet young lass on Sukhumvit Rd.??? Looks like a very low life or at least a very drunk bastard... In the disco? Nothing wrong with that, big smiles on all faces all around you... I love the Sanook athmo in the clubs instead of this often bored desparate waiting for customers on the street or Nana parking lot.
Spice Club Soi 11 in Ambassador Parking Level from 2am on is a good start (late night for dummies). Lot's a gogo girls and almost no (female) tourists left... They're just all into the game... It's too funny to see some girls again you have already met that night at Nana or SC, kind of a second level to the game... Love it...
Edit in: I forgot another big plus: almost no LB in these clubs... Seigh, what a relief from the Sukhumvit LB hassle...

And the same thing is happening in Pattaya.
I spoke with quite a number of girls who were looking forward to get either barfined or for closing time, so they could go to the 'disco' in groups.

P.S: soi 5 club is on the 2nd F. of the white bldg. before the mart? Last time when I was there I did not see any p4p girls.

The Soi 5 club is right above Foodland, but this one's not really busy those days...
Try Spice in Soi 11 first. A definite no brainer with small entrance fee and 99 % working girls... They even have nice Coyote Dancers 
Then proceed to the better places like Tunnel or Spicey etc. with more of a free spirit and closer to a real world club but still lotsa FLs or semi FLs
