Have anyone exchange 10,000 usd at one single time at any Exchange Booth?? Come on, 344,700 baht just buffing out of your clothes... definitely inviting trouble to jump in.
Actually, I have had 400,000 B in my jeans pockets before (all of them in my front pockets), you can't really tell if I had that kind of money on me.

letstango,

No problem. Glad to help. BTW, they are rebuilding the money exchange at VASU right now. The "temporary" exchange is just within soi 7/1 on the RHS.

china sailor,

The rules changed? Interesting. I wired transferred just under 10K last month (Charles Schwab - great since they don't charge me any transaction fees) and wasn't asked to fill out any forms. And, I was talking to the head of their transfer section. I guess they haven't gotten the word.

I might be wrong on this, but I thought the 10K limit was an IRS regulation and not Fed.

And, finally, the same day (9/15) that the VASU rate on USA $100 bills was 34.47, Bangkok Bank's was 34.19. I also saw rates as low as 34.16. That's 280bt difference for every $1,000 USA.
