Brothers have mentioned Ratchada Seafood Market and Bow Gung Pao as good seafood markets. Is this the same place? Where exactly on Ratchadaphisek or elsewhere are they? Thanks.

- I think the same - plenty of seafood joints out that way, but Bow Gung Pow is the best known, and best entertainment/ pick up wise. It is not far past the Fortune tower complex on the corner of ratchada and Rama 9, about 65 baht in a Cab from the Sukhumvit area. There is a large neon Prawn out the front [the name is BBQ Prawn in Thai ] - it is also almost opposite Hollywood and good old DANCE FEVER nightclubs, although you have to drive on a bit and U-turn to get across to them. From 8 - 11pm, BGP is pretty quiet, but gets packed after that most nights, best place to go is to the rear, and inside - set up county style, they have live bands, - and plenty of Massage parlour/ Karaoke workers etc go there when they finish work around midnight. Rest of the clientele middle class Thais, and although you are better to take a TG with you, easy to get phone numbers when you are there. Being so well known, it is also a good place to suggest to a "straight" TG you meet in an office/dept. store etc, to go for a night out -

as far as seafood markets. beware of who takes you there. usually a taxi driver or limo driver from your hotel. they usually are getting a commision. just like as if they were taking you to a massage parlor.
also, don't eat the raw oysters. went there after dance fever one night with a couple girls i barfined from patpongs king castle group. they were eating everything in sight. so i decided to join in to not look out of place. bad idea. got food pisoning the next day. and had the runs for about 3 days. my then-tg took me to the hospital in pattaya. and got the medicine from the doc. hospital charges and medicine were very cheap to my surprise. w/no medical insurance used.

the above mentioned bow gung pow is definetly a place to excite any local girl, since they all love it, so keep this location for some "rescue situation". For the more distinguished taste i would suggest seafoodmarket on sukhumvit soi 24, foods a better taste, atmosphere a little clinical, expensive, but worth to be seen at least once.

i remember being taken to this place by 2 rainbow2 girls
they really go crazy and we had 2 bottles of wisky among the 4 of us.....
we even had wisky in our tom yum gung !!!
