The one in Sukhumvit 24 has great food. But it is pricey. You rarely see locals there. Prices are for tourists. But the seafood is great!

i agree with smeg that sukh 24 has great fresh sea food. but a part of four for full course dinner would set you back by nothing less than 5k (wine / hard drinks not included). it's a great place though for tourists and executives to entertain clients on corporate expense budgets.
i realized long ago that hardly any locals go to such market concepts for their seafood fiesta (when they are paying on their own).
the best place imho for seafood is somboon restaurant. i believe they have two branches - one in surawongse and another near srinakhrin / udomsuk intersection. the food is even tastier than the sukh 24 market joint. last time was there in a party of 6 and the damage was 3k including several beers.

Somboon seafood is also along Ratchada. 3 floors able to cater for large crowd. Fast service. Good food at local price. Yowarat is another place. Good taste and cheap but ambience is different. These road side stalls normally opens abt 7pm. You can eat to yr hearts content without bursting yr wallet.

If you really want the ambience and the fresh seafood at very reasonable prices, go to Chinatown and eat on the street. The food is great and very reasonably priced. And if you are a people watcher, a great place to eat and soak up the surroundings.
I highly recommend the experience.

kev-any time from 7 pm on. If you keep an open mind and aren't hung up on fancy surroundings, it is a fun experience and good food.
