I spend more and more time trying to think of ways I can give back to muang Thai as it has given to me. I am contemplating registering a Foundation to do this. One of my poo yai friends has proposed to get me on to the faculty at one of the government universities to which I can donate materials, equipment and my own time. But I may elect to commercialize this energy instead, and make it self sustaining that way instead of coming out of my pocket. I dunno yet. But I have the desire and the will to do this, I am just exploring the pathways.
I would not do such to a nation of ripoff artists. The Thais are good people. I am astonished that we all can't get along at least on THIS point. (sorry Rodney).

This is not the first time I have agreed to disagree with another on this forum.
You, Sirusman, did nothing to disparage or insult ME and so, earned no bile at all.
You puzzle and disappoint me with your views, but I have nothing against you, and in that you live here and have a Thai wife you and I have a lot in common.
Let's celebrate that and let the conundrum stand. But not between us.

Too vague to bother at this point. It is a matter of material and professional support for scientific education. The Kingdom needs more scientists and engineers and needs to get them hands on experience in research here not abroad. Reverse the brain drain. Or at least slow it down. His Majesty's "self sufficient economy" concept in involved.
Meanwhile the one thing the LOS hasn't given me is what I need to make more $$$ and that is a distiller's license, for that I have to go to a neighboring country, the liquor monopoly in Thailand is just too strong to strive with succesfully, and too big to merge with.
