The "Talk" feature on the board is okay, but it's a little slow and wastes BK's bandwidth. So, I've set up a channel on IRC for us.
Fire up your favorite IRC client (mIRC or PIRCH for Windows or IRCle for Mac are probably your best bets) and connect to the Webnet network. (In the presets of some IRC clients it's called webmaster.org or Webchat, but all same-same...)
Once you're in, type
/join #bangkoktonight
and maybe there will be somebody in the room. I'll keep it open until at least 11PM BKK time tonight if anyone wants to try it out.
Don't ask BK for support! -- I've done this on my own initiative, so if you have any problems or questions, post here.

I have registered the channel with chanserv which will help defend it against takeovers, preserve the topic when the channel is not in use, and other things. I could make the channel invitiation-only effectively locking out everyone but me -- as channel founder I have that sort of heavy mojo -- but it would be the very opposite of what I'm hoping to achieve.
Anyone can use the channel at anytime, it can't technically be closed except as described above. My choice of words in my last post was a poor one. I meant to say that I would be in the channel for a given interval.
And it was nice to you there rezyek.

Good initiative, VJ! However, I got the same error as rezyek...
Also, many IRC clients don't include entries for any Webchat servers
(ie X-Chat under Linux) and I have to enter this command to connect:
/server irc.webchat.org 7000
Maybe you could add this list to your 'Dummies Guide'?
