Hello all,
I had a tumor removed from my tongue yesterday. Yes, that's right, from my tongue. It was the size of maybe a marble.
I have had this "lump" on my tongue for over a year. The first time I went to see the doctor last year, he gave me some cream and it made it go away for some time. After a while it came back. Gradually getting bigger. Sunday it swelled up to a very large size and was pretty painful. So I decided to have it removed.
I went to the hospital and the doctor agreed that it would be best to remove it. Let me tell you all something right now. I am pretty good at ignoring pain, but when someone jabs a needle into your tongue 3 times and shoots some anastesia into it, IT f_ckING HURTS!
He proceded to carve this growth from my tongue. It left a rather large void in the end of my tongue, so he had to put some stitches in to reapir the area. At the time, the stitches didn't hurt. But now they f_ckING HURT LIKE HELL!
I have to wait two weeks for the test results to come back. If it is cancerous, what are the odds of me surviving mouth cancer? Will I have to take chemo therapy for this? The highest risk is if the cancer has gotten into my limp glands correct? Has anyone heard of plastic surgery for reconstructing a persons tongue? In case I have to lose more of it.

The possibilty of cancer has really gotten me shaken. Especially since I am here in Thailand. I am not that confident in the medical practices here, and I have no way to pay for medical care back in the States. The lingering feeling that I am about to be f_ckED is constantly in my head.

Not trying to make fun of it, but if your tongue hurts now, you may find eating a bit difficult. This may be a good time to seriously start that diet that you have been puting off for some time.

Now, remember that for the person that has no general knowledge of the details, learning all at once, makes the prospects sound bThis is because when you read these things, all the bad things that can happen get comprressed in the literature. Thus, do not alarm yourself prematurely and unnecesarily.
There is no point in worrying now. You may be worrying for a problem that may not exist. And if you do have a problem, well, you will worry anyway once you find about it. Thus do not worry too much for now.

I didn't want to offend anyone buy saying "retard." I was hoping someone would clear that whole "vegetable" thing up so I didn't have to.
The only time I drool is when I go to Bkk and see those sexy things that you guys hang out with everyday.
You know, when I was younger, I did use smokeless tobacco quite excessively for around 10 years or so. Combine that with all those years of drinking.......well you do the math.
Worse case is they have to cut my tongue off. Then I will have to use hand gestures like this  to communicate. 5555! I wonder how you do sign language for "how about some stiff board banging with a human pile driver?" 5555!

Sorry to hear about your bad news.
Maybe you could do a search under tumours with alternative therapies in mind and see what food and vitamins are recommended to help a speedy recovery.
