I have only taken 1/2 Viagra on one occasion, the last night with Na and Da in Pattaya during my last trip, as mentioned in my field report.
I was extremely horny already and just wanted to last the whole night to make them happy. The effect it had on me was that was hard a long time and when at a certain stage I wanted to finish, I could not... Maybe it was as I was taking it after consuming a lot of alcohol, I do not know. But it was a nice experience, in the end Na and me finished after a few hours of sleep.
Na made me smile a lot as she insisted on taking the other half of the tablet, saying she wanted to eat the same as me. I do not guess it had any affect on her...
Would I take Viagra again? Well, for a special occasion like the above certainly or while being over-f_cked, otherwise I do not feel the need for it.

The side effects of Viagra are annoying at best. For me, it acts as a diurectic, can lead to constipation (I drink more water), makes me hotter (not a good thing as my TGF's apartment lacks aircon), and can under certain circumstances, make it hard to cum, even if you feel that you want to. In those cases, it almost feels as if it adversely affects the muscles that are supposed to contract on queue to make one cum. Just a subjective opinion. Interestingly, I find my unit works optimally the day AFTER I take the stuff, as my body is not trying to desperately metabolise the stuff out, as it does in the first 4 hours after ingestion. I am overstating the effects, but as one gets older, smaller things can interfere with the mind-body connection that makes you cum -- in the end, you don't want to be "pushing rope." With this in mind, I occasionally use a half tab (50 mg) as a "booster," about once a week when in Thailand. I want the quality time with my TGF to be enjoyable for both of us, and don't want the vagaries of jet lag, etc. to interfere with that. My return to the States always comes too soon, so for me it's just a tactical choice.
Am looking to try the new stuff called Uprima, from Abbot Labs, http://www.uprima.net. Have a friend who can get some trial tabs cheaply, and am curious to see how this stacks up to Viagra.

I think the trick with viagra (& reliable substitutes) is to take the absolute minimum you need. It's not going to make you any hornier, no matter how much you take, so overkill is just pointless.
Balls's point about residuals and 'boosters' is certainly valid. Some guys would probably do better to take their main dose before arrival in LOS, though optimum effects for individuals can only be discovered through experimental trial and error.
Let's not knock the stuff. If the hydraulics fail, you don't even get to first base.
Testosterone seems to be the best cure for lacking the urge - though a bit dangerous if used for more than a short period, I gather.
I think the basic problem, for older guys visiting LOS, is that they try to pack in far more sex in a short time span than they actually need. Even young studs, who can sustain 3 or 4 times a day for a while, soon start complaining that they're not getting much out of it.
At the end of the day, it's all about releasing sexual tension, is it not? If Ýthe tension doesn't get a chance to build up, what have you got? I suspect this is as much of a psychological problem as a physiological one.

Uprima is also available in Bangkok (though not yet accepted by the US FDA but only by the European FDA so far) for the price of 1600 Baht for 4 x 3mg tablets. Can't report on any effects on me though although I tried it in December in Bangkok.

I have read how viagra works, but not very articulate writer, a chemist, or a scientist. Arcadius is right it is a psychological and phiscological problem. When a man get excited the brain sends a message to the prostrate that cause the release of a hormone that causes a chemical reaction within the prostrate glan that causes the outflow of blood to the penis to be restricted or stopped. Thus the penis is erect, whatch out bargirls! When the hormone that triggers the chemical reaction is not released (for whatever reason) you have a limp dick. What viagra does is give you the hormone that allows the chemical reaction to occur. I suspect that viagra boosts the production the hormone in normal functioning males and allows more susstained activity during periods of heavy activity. Typically older men expericnce reduced production of this hormone.

To answer the immediately preceding question, pretty much anywhere along Sukhumvit: many pharmacies advertise it, but it is expensive 2100bht, I seem to remember, for four tablets. I use(d) Penegra an Indian-made generic which seems to have much the same effect at around 7/800bht for four tablets.
Thaks for all the answers: relieved to find my predicament is not unique. Very perceptive post from the Lord Arcadius. The fact is that one arrives bursting with expectation, tension and frustration so the first few hours are a swamp of debauchery. But therafter I suspect one may be doing it because one is in Bangkok and these occasions come but rarely (no pun intended) you have a feeling that you have a duty to shag yourself stupid. The kid in candy store/drunk in brewery syndrome. When I first started visiting BKK 20 years ago (pre-chemical days) I reckoned the first day four beautiful adventures, the second two or three, the third an absolute max of two. Now it is about the same but with a little (or quite a lot of) help from my (pink - Penegra) friends. But two weeks after returning home, sleepless and remembering brown-eyed, silk skinned beauties you cannot imagine why you weren't at it night and day...
