I caught a good dose last year. I went through many things (all prescribed) here in Japan.

The doctor said as a last resort he would have to give me an injection of some high power stuff. I never got that far as that was 'last resort'.

Maybe US doctors are unfamiliar with Certain area strains??

I'm NOt a doctor

Macaler,

You mentioned that you never got as far as the "last resort." So, am I to assume you found something that worked? If so, would be great to hear, via private message if you prefer, any suggestions.

I plan on trying a few different doctors in LOS to find one who may be able to solve this dilemma. Does anyone have any advice on perhaps the best clinic in Thailand for this sort of thing?

Mr Alan
You might try and do some research here. You will need to register, but I think it is free:

Olsten,

After various treatments he gave me a dose of;

1000MG Zithromax (sp) for 3 days. It finally cleared up after about 7-10 days.

I'll take this moment to tell anyone who 'self medicates'..........PLEASE DON'T..

Or if you do, please get checked before you resume sexual activity.

I had a similar problem and used a lot of antibiotics as prescribed by my doctors. I ended up by a Chinese specialist who was recommended by my western doctors. He took me off most of the antibiotics as he thought that I would be or would become resistant for antibiotics. He put me back onto Zithromax and an antibiotic for Tuberculosis. Unfortunately I do not recall the name of the medicine anymore but it was a red tablet and you had to take it in the morning after which your next urine would be reddish/orange. I know that the description of the medicine is not clear but a few months later while visiting my western doctor again he immediately recognized the medicine in question. The above mentioned combination of antibiotics worked after 10 to 12 days. I then had the same medicine for another 10 days for good measure as recommended by the doctor.

While having the treatment from the Chinese specialist he mentioned that if the above treatment would not help they would do bacterial tests in a laboratory to see what kind of antibiotics would finally work. It was my understanding that that research would be a costly matter and would take time, but eventually would give a result.

I had the problem for some 3 months and it was very irritating to have it and not find a cure, I was very relieved when it was finally over. During the months of treatment I felt my body weakening and loosing a bit of weight. Please keep consulting with your doctors and refrain from self medication. Good luck

Chinarnold,

I believe the TB drug would be INH.. A very powerful and targeted anti-biotic.

Another VERY good point to make here is that while on anti-biotics, thou SHALT NOT Drink alcohol.. at all.. No way no how!!

I know some people do and there is no adverse effects (On INH it can kill you as a side-note). I try Not to drink while on anti-biotics but occasionally have a bender every now and again with no major problems.

Alcohol lessens the effect of an anti-biotic. They both get processed in the liver. Drinking while on Anti-B's may be a major cause of the pills not working with the desired effect.

Olsten, Did you drink while on Anti-B's??

Mr Alan
Zythromax (and many other antibiotics) also has an interaction with calcium and/or magnesium that makes the antibiotic ineffective. Caution should be exercised when taking antacids or multi-vitamins.

Generally it is best to take antibiotics at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after any food, drink (other than water), or vitamins. Some antibiotics are recommended to take with food to avoid stomach upset (like Argumentum), but doing so usually increases the risk of making it ineffective.

I had always self-prescribed each time I contracted a drippy dick until I caught something that caused great gobs of pus to pour from my dick at regular intervals. It got so bad that I had to wrap my helmet in handfuls of toilet paper so that it wouldn't leak through my pants and cause me great embarrassment at the office. I tried everything - doxycycline, erythromycin, minocin (which gives you appalling hangover like symptoms) and lexinor. Still the steady toothpaste like flow continued unabated.
I finally realised I was in above my head and visited a Thai clinic near the entrance to Thonglor and told a lady doctor that I had a 'problem'. She asked me what I had used to treat it and I explained that I tried the above list, to no avail.
After undergoing a few tests she told me I had 2nd/3rd (can't remember) generation gonorrhea and none of the usual anti-b's would help. She further explained that this sort of afflication is native to Thailand and doctors in Australia/Europe/US don't know how to treat it. She then administered a cocktail of drugs via an injection for 3 straight days. She also told me to continue with the doxycycline as I also had NSU (I used to be a very bad boy). The effect was immediate. The following morning the raging trouser torrent all but dried up and the day after that, the symptoms had completely disappeared. Much to my relief!
I have never met anyone with symptoms such as the above and 5 years on I haven't seen so much a single drip. So there you go.

Kenneth, you have just described in detail what I was suffering from 2 weeks ago, and I got this form a BBBJ.

I self diagnosed either NSU/UTI or clap so tried the usual cure Norfloxacin ( I researched it on the web so was aware of contraindications) for 1 week, all to no avail, gave up and went to the doc who didn't even look at it, just gave me a 2g (yes 2 f***ing grams) Fasigyn, 1g of Ithromax all on an empty stomach and then the perenial Doxycyline for 14 days
The pus stopped overnight (thank gawd) and so far so good.
