Hi all,
I was in Thailand one week ago and spent a day with a girl I met over the internet.
Now she just emailed me that her period is late and she had a positive test for being pregnant.
I believe this is extremely unlikely and she is trying to get money from me...
Any suggestions about how should I proceed?

You said you spent a day with her. Did you screw her? Did you use a condom? If yes and yes, then maybe she is pregnant by you.
You might offer the following: You'll take a paternity test next time you are in Bangkok but have her pay for it. Then, if you are the father, you will reimburse her double the cost of the test.
BTW, how much money did she ask for?

My mate's long time girl has tried that on twice. It's very common.
Blocking is a wise move for a one night stander. At least then she won't 'do your head in'.

...i have very recently experienced a pregnancy story myself,...although I wasn't told until after 3 months of returning home...however, as much as I was sure it was a lie, I knew it could be a possibility. Even after calling her bluff, inconsistent stories, e-mails, txt messages etc, I had to be 100 % sure I had her checked out - I contacted TPE, who did a fantastic job in reassuring me 100% it was a lie - however, I’ve always said to myself that if I am the father, then I will support my kid...no question!
Anyhow, back to your issue; you say you've been back 1 week and already she's telling you she's pregnant... ...it's an almost certainty she is lying, or if she is pregnant, then it isn't yours...!
Whatever you do, DO NOT send her any money...and just forget about her.....

I would fly back to LOS and have her do a pregnancy test in front of me. If it was positive, I would make arrangements for her to have an abortion. If she wanted to keep the baby, I would arrange to support her back home during the pregnancy. If she lives back home with her family this should cost you about $100USD per month.
When the baby was born I would have a DNA test done back in my home country.
What next is "up to you".

I wouldn't jump on the troll bandwagon too quickly, as I am sure many newbies get hit up with this situation, at one point or another - as others in this thread pointed out, it's a common scam.
If the girl calls him one week later, and claims she is pregnant, she is also very bad at math.
So, this harry fella never clarified if he barebacked the young lady, or why it might be possible for her to be pregnant? Is it one of these scams where the girl, in the heat of passion, rips off the condom and starts going to town, or the kind of situation where she goes to town, and 'forgets' to mention the condom?

I would be much, much more worried about your H.I.V STATUS in the next 3 months.
The number of girls that meet farangs over the internet is not unusal.
The number of girls that on meeting farangs from the internet and have sex first day, is again not unusal.
Reason?
Many have done or do work. However 99.9% use condoms.
Some can only freelance, as they are H.I.V and the bars and go gos often check that situation.
Many reside in the cyberspace areas and places like soi7 beer garden, themaes etc.
The idea is is to meet a farang, and secure a small income before being too sick to work.
They often will jump on as many farangs dicks as they can unprotected and hope a few send money for a half year or so.
Later even blaming the farang for being infected, then the stick to together idea.
Ofcourse she could be a very naieve silly girl and you the father of the real pregnancy she may really have.
Its a murky story.
But as I said, the odds are on her being a player, and worse one that isnt scared to f*** without a condom.

Have her send you a picture of her stomach in a couple months (make sure her face is in the pic). If she does appear pregnant then I would advise to do as Colorado Guy suggests.
