Thaier
Hello all,

it's been quite some time now that I left Bangkok after spending there several months (i miss Bangkok from the first moment I stepped my foot to bloody Europe again...). All those months I spent interesting nights with Thai girls, on several occasions from places like Patpong or Nana.
All this time I am again in Europe, I haven't checked for HIV or any other diseases I may have. So my question is this: with the exception of HIV, is there anything else that I might have caught during my stay there that I should check for?Nothing unusual ever happened to me all this time, nothing strange and visible to any part of my body, and I was never ill for any reason at all so far.Of course I always used condoms, even for blowjobs (ok, maybe I was a coward, sorry )
Thank you for your help in advance.

HPV

"Research studies have not confirmed that male latex condoms prevent transmission of HPV, but studies do suggest that using condoms may reduce your risk of developing diseases linked to HPV, such as genital warts and cervical cancer."

"Most HPV infections have no signs or symptoms; therefore, most infected persons are unaware they are infected, yet they can transmit the virus to a sex partner. Rarely, a pregnant woman can pass HPV to her baby during vaginal delivery. A baby that is exposed to HPV very rarely develops warts in the throat or voice box."

Thaier,

Sounds like you might have the dreaded Western guilt virus.

You had a good time and enjoyed yourself immensely so naturally you feel like you will pay some terrible price.

It happens to many of us who live in this culture.

Where I live the public health clinics run STD tests and also require everyone to have counseling from some do-gooder counselor about the risky behaviors they are engaging in. This ensures that you know you are a bad person if you need to be tested.
To be fair they make sure you are realistically informed about risky behaviors you might be engaged in.

My advice (free and worth every penny) is go get tested and be done with it.
You have no symptoms so chances are you are fine but don't wait and worry if it's bothering you.

Remember, everything has its risks.
You could walk out the door and be hit by a falling whale.
Unlikely, but if you were, almost zero chance of survival.
Chok dii.
