My condom of choice is the #1 rated Inspiral brand. As far as I know 3 month is the right time to give you await, but depends on people someone needs 1 year.
I just think you are too cautions and worry about it and I think it is ok and they are big money makers and surely don't want to die of AIDS so they also pay cautions on their sexual disease.
I used to apply the oil on my condom in my country and in BKK as well, but never had that kind of experience. I am not sure what kind of oil it was. This time about 1 month ago the case of the oil was johnsons&johnsons baby oil, but not really sure the oil inside the case is really johnson&johnson. Anyway, what oil they use my condoms never have been broken. I may have luck.

0.3% or less chance of infecting aids assuming that girl is HIV positive. So what's the chance of the girl being HIV positive? 5% or so? ( I read from somewhere, about 5% of Thai working girls are HIV positive) then times 0.3% will be the approximate chance for one unprotected sex in Thailand. So do not over react. Get a test in few months if you are still so worried.

I think you should check out statistics of unprotected anal sex....
Then factor in that 1/2 the guys doing that are also doing sex a lot in their 2 week vacation so they may have small sores/scars/scrapes.....
Then factor in that it isn't just HIV but also Herpes, Genital warts, Ghonnorhea, Syphyllis, etc...
Then factor in that they are often having sex more than 1 round...
I think you could be out by at least a factor of 10; besides which I won the lottery before with odds heaps worse than this; I've hit a straight flush in Vegas; hmmm..... the odds aren't so relevant if you are the.03% that gets it!
The no condom crowd often seems keen to try to convince us that it is super safe and the odds are so low.... if you have a chance go to the orphanage in Rama 6 and look at all the abandoned children there who are HIV+.... the odds may indeed be low, but the results are really bad...
