Was in Bangkok not too long ago, and had two superior sessions at Tulip, one with Fah on Nov 19 and one with Som (new girl) on Dec. 29.
Unfortunately Fah has retired (she was a real sweetheart}.
Som is a very sweet and fairly attractive lady; very pleasant and gentle in her own way. Almost everything is on the menu (i didn't try backdoor).
She tried to get me off twice - but I couldn't oblige. Her skills are excellent. Highly recommended!

Late afternoon, 5-ish, an open 2 hours, so headed to Mango (yes, I know what thread this is) to see what was on/to tap, figuring the opening 3pm pulls would just be finishing up. (Last week, I was a 3pm-er; when I was leaving, many more selections available.) Now only 4 on offer, none really appealing (in my eyes).
Jump on skytrain (can it be 10 years?), 1 stop, and I'm outside Tulip. Haven't been there in a couple of years. Walk in front door, receptionist is over watching tv (what, a thai girl watching tv?, hard to believe!). Can barely be bothered to come over to the reception desk.
She calls out "Jojo". Now, since that's not MY name... hmmm. Kind of like a bell curve: could be, way off to the right, my karma is so dazzling, she's picked the very best for me. Or, way off to the left, she's picked the girl who's not popular and needs the work. Or, the bell part, most likely, just picked the next one up in the rotation. Point being, it's just a name, no face to associate with it.
Christmas, I like surprises. My birthday, same again. But I've always been more a "bar man" than an escort service type of guy - I like to see the merchandise. And speaking of seeing, no photo book offered. Of course, that's fine with me, as I understand the verb "photoshop".
I ask who is there (maybe not understood), so I say again, "which girls here?" Maybe I'll recognize a name from some of the reports here.

Definitely NOT on the same page. Now Jojo could be a stunner for all I know, but I just don't know. Certainly in the next 2 minutes I'll know, but, then again, I'm an adult, I like making my own decisions, what appeals TO ME.

A slow, sensual massage follows, slow enough that I do mention I'm interested in 'extras'. Now, I SERIOUSLY doubt that any 'civilian' walks in expecting a legit massage, but this is "Amazing Thailand"; you never know. No problem, we are on the same page.
And unlike Mango (1:45), and unlike Annies (2 hours stated, but 1.5 provided), full 2 hours occupied. Best of those places, but it does come down to the girl. Likewise, unlike Mango and Annies, at Tulip, you pay the base price at the door (800 baht, 2 hours), arrangements made with the girl (though there was no discussion of price). At Mango and Annies, it's 'all inclusive'.
Also nice to hear that the girl I knew several years ago is now making someone happy in Germany, nice girl.

Still, what you described was just standard procedure at Tulip and similar venues. "way off to the left" is much more likely than your right-wing fantasy (would this be so in American politics).
It was definitely not Christmas, and most likely not your birthday.
You did well by threatening to leave. Good bargaining move.
I like Tulip, and have enjoyed several knee-weakening sessions there. But sometimes, the available ladies when I stop by are just not my type. I know this because I learned to do what any Tulip visitor should do:
Insist on looking at the currently-available ladies!!!
If none of them turn you on, it's OK to smile, maybe give them an embarrassed thank you, and leave.
You can still come back again for another look.

Not really a threat, just a statement of fact. As you pointed out, if you don't see anyone you like, as I didn't, not seeing ANYONE, leave, to return another day.
When I left Mango, without pulling anyone, they understood, and gave me a 'hope to see you soon' goodbye.

Nice report 11bravo. Mango is typically not "all inclusive". Same payment arrangement as Tulip. 1500 for the girl in the room for FS, extra tip up to you for excellent service.

In Tulip they also make the price "all inclusive" for some type of customers, like the Japanese who come in group and ask for a bargain price (i saw some showing a magazine and asking for a discount price showing some kind of vouncher?)
