'Awful' does mean in it's literal sense full of 'Awe'....Like 'wow'. It's usage has changed 100% Just as 'Bad' now means 'good' in some contexts and so does 'Wicked'
You might like this........When we say a woman is 'Glamourous' we know what we mean,and yet in it's origin it meant the opposite of 'stunningly beautiful' it meant she was a witch!!

I know it is in vouge to say the opposite of what you mean in the West. But I predict that if you keep that up, you will not die from natural causes. Somewhere, someday, somebody is going to take what you say the wrong way and it is not going to be pretty.

Being a non-native english speaker, howdoes ""awful" compare with "awsome"?
I appreciate that awful literally is ful of awe, although we use it in the oposite sense, but wouldn't CUTESALAD (What an awful name for a LOS monger) have said "awsome" if he meant it was great?
