I was wondering if anyone here has knowledge of what the TTMs must pay in tea money to the boys in brown each week or month.
The BIB are not stupid and they need money so this river of gold is not likley to be overlooked.
If you have some idea, please state your source and your assessment of its reliability.

I doubt this is a secret as many owners must cough up.
And since "specials" are illegal, it is not likely they pass up this revenue stream.
Actually I know a bar owner and he might know.
But I wonder how the rates vary from TTM to a beer bar.

If you are really serious about having a TTM, then I would be sure that contacting your High ranking MIB and asking directly would not be a problem.
They will eventually ask for the money anyway.
Yes, "Specials" are Illegal (except is you have a "legit" business like Annies for example). Then you are less prone to the BIB.
I am sure that in Tough times, they will squeeze the non-legit places more.

An acquaintance had an OM for sale and I brought a friend there to look at it and in the course of his conversation with the owner this very question came up. 15,000 per month and no house charge for the girls services. Sorry I do not have an answer for TTM however if the owner is a Thai and they run an honest business, pay taxes, and are registered to do business then I would think the BIB could go whistle in the wind. Since TIT they would most likely try to harass you as best they can for tea money but if you refuse and are doing nothing wrong there is really not much they can do.

In the case of a TTM if the owner is a Thai,runs an HONEST business,PAYS TAXES,and IS REGISTERED.........
Do any such businesses exist?
I really think the BIB`s tea money activities will be very minimally restricted.

Well I know of a TTM that asked me to take over 5 years ago; they offered no extras and were struggling. The new owner changed the name and refurbished the place a bit and kept all the same ladies and still offered no extras. They lasted about 1 1/2 years before selling it to the present owner who again renamed it to one that is getting occasional mention on the forum as a place that does offer extras.
So to answer the question of the last poster; whether they run an honest business and pay taxes to the government or tea money to the BIB it is just another form of taxation. You have to pay one way or another.
I know a small bar owner with 6 girls who is struggling and he refused to pay tea money because he said he pays taxes and is doing nothing wrong. The BIB kept harassing the ladies until he agreed to pay something.
And why would you ever think that a Thai or anyone else running a cash business would not be honest?
Unfortunately I did not contribute an exact answer to the original question about TTM and Tea Money.
