Ok guys, here is my honest PI FR. I have been wanting to come here for a long time, but maybe I am tainted from spehding SO much time in BKK. Personally I don't think the PI has anything on Bangkok.
Normally bar fining girls is not my thing in BKK, but since I don't really need any PI girl friends, I have been visiting P bourgas. All the places are pretty dead compared to Soi Cowboy, or Nana, or Patpong. Imagine being one of few guys walking into a SC bar, and that is how is on P Bourgas. The places where you can meet normal girls are either too small, or not a really worthy night club IMHO. At the Embassy, I don't feel like watching the same Puma commercial played on the big screen repeatedly.
The problem over here is the whole Bar fine issue. You pay about 60 USD to bar fine a girl. So when you take her out of the bar, she has already cashed in (Not good for bizness). On all three nights that I have bar fined girls, there has been a lot of BS involved. These girls know what is required to get into the New World Hotel....ID. First night I take back two girls, and girl No2 shows the hotel people some BS id that is not hers. They toss her out the door. She makes her Barfine, and goes home early. Girl No 2 calls her friend that makes up for it, but I just wasted my $ on some BS girl.
Night No2. I bar fine two girls. One girl is just great. Girl No 2 comes up to the room and spends about 30 min in the bathroom. It is obvious she is not up for having any fun...a total bitch. I kick her ass out the door, and have a great time with girl number one. Once again wasted money on a bar fine girl.
Night 3, bar fine one girl from the same bar (billboard),the same bar I had problems with a girl from the previous night. I did report her to the mamasan, and supposably she said she has banned her for a few nights. I assume that was BS since girl No 1 from the previous night did not want to talk to me again, but then soon came back to suck up to me (probably after mamasan told her she was just giving me bs). After mamasan told me this I saw girl no 2 from previous night again trying to take advantage of a guy. I told the mamasan I would end my drinking if I saw that girl (My bar tab normally was topping out at 300USD) Much too expensive I know for what is offered. I bar fined one girl, and luckily when I went to 7-11 to buy some party supplies, I asked her if she had ID. She said she did not. So I went back to Billboard to get a refund on my Bar fine. Oh what a f***ing Ordeal that was. After about 20 mins of I did finaly get my money back.
Over all I think that the PI is way too much hassle for finding party girls that you can f***. Yes I could just go for some FL in the greenbelt or on the street, But that would be just the same as getting some street girl on SUK.
Bottom line is that the per capita of hot girls is much lower then in Thailand. There is definately more fat girls in the PI. The majority of them have a gut on them. Maybe if you catch them in the under 25 age group you can find some without a FUPA (Fat Upper Pussy Area), but they are build a lot more stockier then thai people.
I have been all over the world. The PI is a good place if Thailand did not exist, but it is definately not more user friendly. BKK is first world compared to Manila. Personally I despise having to do the Taxi Negoiaiton every time getting into a taxi. Also, the prices at these girlie bars are much higher then what you would pay in BKK.
I did move out of the bar scene to check out some of these bars that guys on here have talked about (On Quezon Ave). Personally not my style. Maybe cut for Korean or Jap guys. Sitting around and sucking up to some drinks while getting worked by drink girls, is not my style. The "SHOW" they claim to have, is nothing compared to what you might be use to if you went to old Orbit, or the FOrte..etc. Definately not a place to go as a solo guy.
Ok, that is my honest opinon of the PI. Not impressed at all. BKK is much more user friendly, even if you are going to pay for it. I have spent too much time in the third world (Developing Nations) to enjoy dealing with all the BS associated to partying, and getting laid. Personally I will spend my time in BKK. Life is just a series of learning what you don't want to do ever again. Sorry, just my 2.

At $60 USD for a barfine it seems they are trying to drive away the few that continue to visit the PI. Doesn't seem like there are lot of reasons to visit the PI anymore. Too bad!

Thanks for solidifying my gut feelings. Now I can bypass the PI. I think these girls are to westernized and most have some west connections which makes them greedy and out for the hustle.

The handwriting is on the wall. Korea used to be 5-10 usd before the japanese moved in with their crazy price system now cheaper to fly r/t from soul to clark get a room and barfine than to to barfine in soul, manila used to be 1000-2000 p for every thing until they came in large numbers now 5000p up unless u go to lacafe or bars in that area but only f/l workers there. befor the japanese would stay at their high priced clubs on soi 33 in bangkok but now they are invading the beer garden soi 7, nana plaza,and soi cowboy. Just a matter of time until u will have to pay their prices 10,000 b + per girl. P.S in the phillipines the japanese pay 200-300 usd per night to the girl and then give them 500 usd to go shopping while they play golf,The japanese are the same as H.i.v as they are destroying peoples sex lives

The BF issue is one grey area that I have tried to get the info on from this board. Guys here have said that the girls expect a tip of 1-2K (20-30USD) after a long time. I actually asked one girl what was the normal tip. She said 4K (Of Course). I called BS on that, and gave her two. SOOOoo if you add it all up. A pretty expensive deal compared to BKK. I am not Cheap, but I also don't like to get taken advantage of, and have to pay more then what is normal.
Another advantage BKK has. Even if you have a bad night, you can still roll out of your place and easily find an oil massage place at your door step. Not so here. Sure they have, but not everywhere like in BKK.
On the West Connections one of you mentioned. What girls are found all over Asia working? Girls from the Phillipines. I think a lot of these girls have gone to work in places like Japan and gotten tainted. The one good f*** girl I had lived in Japan, so I know what she was doing there.
Tonite is my last night here. Punching out early by a few days to go back to BKK. There is one young girl who I like at this one (not billboard) bar. I think I am just going to roll in there early, and not stay to party. Just bar fine her and f*** her all night.
Once again. The Billboard bar in P Bourgas is probably the busiest place, with the most girls, but it will cost you some cash to hang out in there for a while. Both nights I ended up with a $280 tab, including the $60 BF. Rum and coke (my drink) was $5.50, and I think that is also the price of any drink you buy a girl. At least there they actually drink a real drink when you buy them a drink, unlike some other places here that do the Korean thing, of a little shot of Orange juice for $5.50.

Thanks for the FR. It's interestin' to compare Sarge's and your feelings about the same place at (roughly) the same time.
The prices do seem to be relatively high compared to LOS but there again it depends how much one enjoys oneself. I wouldn't mind paying more for a floosie if I had a correspondingly better time than my previous efforts with TBGs.
I'll still make the trip myself and report back later.

Although I am endowed with a total opposite opinion, I truly love this FR. The reason being that most people think about the PI like this and it is this attitude that will keep the PI from becoming the commercialized, westernized, back packer haven\dump Thailand is.
I personally adore the fact that in Manila (and even more so in the rest of the PI) I am the only white guy on the street. It means all the attention is on me – which, granted, can be annoying sometimes.
As mentioned ad nauseam, Manila is not for the un-initiated. It is indeed not as in-your-face convenient as Bangkok. Personally, I hope that it stays that way for a long time.
Personally I despise having to do the Taxi Negotiation every time getting into a taxi.
This illustrates my point perfectly. With some Tagalog, this never happens. They only pull that shit with tourists.

Hyper...I was drinking a lot, and probably buying too many girls shots. But the tab also included the bar fine of two girls.
You are right about that however. It is nice not to have the backpacker scum around, and it is fun not to have so many Farangs running around. I did not say everything is bad about the PI.

I am with Hypershade on this one; and having just returned from Philippines a month ago, I feel I can throw in my 2 penny's worth.
Baquawn - I’m not sure I can recognise the Manila I know from your post but as they say different strokes for different folks. It also has to be said that if you arrive to Manila from Angeles City, you’ll definitely experience an after shock as in AC is so much cheaper and the system is structured in a different way. But this not seems to be the case with you. I cannot comment on your experience with the girls once back at the hotel, but what I can say is that, generally speaking, pinays are not keen on threesome and that is why one will always hide/wait in the bathroom while you’re bonking the other one. It happened to me in Angeles City.
What I will pick on is the cost of whoring in Manila as opposed to Bangkok; let’s make a like-for-like comparison, so that it will be fair judgement.
Punter 1 goes to Bangkok and enters one of the most popular bars in NEP: Carousel. He decides that this is the bar where he’ll pick his lady of the night; assuming he’s not a heavy drinker and takes one dancer with him for an overnight stay (LT). His bill will look roughly like that:
BAR FINE: 650 TBH = US $16
GIRL’S TIP: 2,500 TBH = US $61
LDS x 3: 525 TBH = US $13
BEERS x 3: 375 TBH = US $9
TOTAL 4,050 TBH = US $99 (today’s exchange rate 1 TBH = US $0.0244664)
At precisely the same time, Punter 2 goes to Manila and enters one of the most popular bars in P. Burgos Avenue (Makati City) : Flamingo. He too decides that this is the bar where he’ll pick his lady of the night; assuming he’s not a heavy drinker and takes one dancer with him for an overnight stay (LT). His bill will look roughly like that:
BAR FINE: 1,000 PHP = US $18
GIRL’S TIP: 3,000 PHP = US $54
LDS x 3: 900 PHP = US $16
BEERS x 3: 375 PHP = US $7
TOTAL 5,275 PHP = US $95 (today’s exchange rate 1 PHP = US $ 0.0179292)
Now, let me qualify the rationale of the Famingo’s bill; in this bar and at various others in P. Burgos Avenue, the actual BF is 1,900 pesos but if you buy 3 LDs at 300 pesos each, they then will deduct it from the BF, hence the 1,000 pesos. However in the bar you mentioned, Billboard they have a higher fee structure (that is mainly why I avoided BF-ing there) and their BF is 3,000 pesos but they too deduct 900 pesos if you bay 3 LDs, hence 2,100 pesos BF.
As you can see form the table above, the cost of whoring in these 2 capital cities is very similar and even if you apply the higher BF cost, the difference will be appx US $15, in favour of BKK. Hardly something to scream about!
Finally the taxi drivers; in here I disagree with you and Hypershade. I never had any problem with taxi drivers (unlike with the scumbags hanging around Sukhumvit), meters always worked and paid the fair and correct fare. Also there is no real need to converse in Tagalog (it helps of course, as it would help if you can converse in Thai), unlike Thailand here EVERYBODY speaks English and you’ll never have problem to make yourself understood to a taxi driver, or anybody else for that matter.
To conclude: I echo Hypershade words. This is a terrible country; you’d better off staying in Thailand. Leave Philippines to a selected few connoisseurs, so that it won’t be spoiled and never lose its charm. Gosh, I like this place………..

Thanks for putting in some more detail. I did not even know that they would deduct anything off the BF for lady drinks. Shit I bought a lot of them, and still had to pay 3k for a BF in Billboard. Now I know better.
I have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to Taxis. I think I have been in one taxi since I have been here where the meter was actually on. Always have to do the typical Eastern EU price asking game before getting into a taxi here in Manila. Not to mention that all the Taxis are run down to the point of wondering if you are going to get there. It is a rare night when you actually have someone pull a no meter trick on you in BKK outside notorius no meter pick up places.
You might have a point about the threesome thing over here. I never really thought about it, but it sounds reasonable.
Like you said, different places for different people. I would go on a visa run here again for a night or two, just for the change of pace, but Thai girls still are much better looking, dress nicer, and BKK has a lot more of spectrum of night life then MNL.
